Just offered me his 72' Duster and $15,000 cash, for a 2003 Cobra Convertible.....

He assures me his car is a certified show car, and appraised at $16,000......

I asked by who, the Dukes of Hazzard... he didn't like that one.

I told this guy as politely as I could, his car wouldn't be worth $500.00 to me, but I would give him that in trade, I thought he was going to cry......:D

No more Mustangs on my lot.....I tell myself this every year, and every spring I load up on them, cause the sell like crazy in the midwest........I'll never learn.

LOL, got any Gremlins in?

What was under the hood of the Duster?

I'd consider taking a show quality 72 Duster with the right paint, trim, and a 340 and performance package for an '03 cobra and $15,000.

BWAHHAHAHAHHAH

Thats fucking hilarious!

That sounds like a fun job Pitbull... the duster for a cobra... Pleease... maybe a cobra wheel for the Duster... that sounds like a good trade, along with the 15 G's

man I hate people like that who try to fool you altough make themselves look like a fool

year ago I went to chevy dealership and was just checking out cars with my friend. This guy comes up like his name is Enzo Ferrari and offers me to trade in my brothers 01 fully loaded Land Rover which I myself have invested about 2-3k worth of shit in like new audio and new dual exhaust etc for a freaking used chevy monte carlo cause I told him I was lookin for a sedan

I mean theres about 5-10k difference right there

what kinda shit is that

No offense, but I'm not in the classic.. car business.

The car isn't worth more than $500.00 to me, because I don't have a buyer for that car.

I do however have a country full of buyers for the Cobra.

Makes no difference what is under the hood, or if it's a matching numbers car. The market for that car is way too small.

Pit, I notice you have lightened up on the use of "..."'s in your post.

It's laziness really (my use of ..'s)

Although, I read some of my posts, and saw how it might be annoying. :)

Pitbull, what dealership? I actually own a 99 GT with lots and lots of mods. The 03 Cobra is the fastest production mustang ever made. The supercharger makes all the difference in the world.

Funny story ( true ) last Oct I was looking at Explorer sports ( I kept the mustang when it got payed off and was looking at 4x4's so I can drive a car in the snow ) They had the 40th anniv. Cobra vert. This car was beautiful. Anyway I find my Explorer and am going through the motions of purchasing it. My salesman tells me one of the mechanics ( a 23 y.o. ) just bought the cobra. Lucky bastard. Anyway the next day I come to pick up the truck and I see the cobra in the shop with the motor tore out of it. I asked my rep and the fin mgr WTF. The kid had it less than 20 min. They heard him leave the dealership with wheels squeeling and came back 15 min later with a blown engine. I figure he was shifting W.O.T and missed 4th and hit 2nd? They replaced it with a brand new motor.

unfortunately dealerships don't care whether or not you have a $100K worth of stereo, rims, ground effects, whatever. you'll still get offered whatever the car is worth completely stock. back when i was 16 i thought that putting a nice system in my car would surely help out when i went to trade it in. you might find a private buyer who is willing to fork out a little more for some extra stuff done to the car, but dealerships will laugh at you if you're like, "but it's got 20s on it. gimme $2K more than what you offered."

My dealership...:)

It's on Highway 94....p.m. if ya want the details.

well yea I know that but even if you take all that shit off I would still wanna keep a land rover over a crappy monte carlo

like I said it was about 5k -at least- below the blue book value

me and my brother went to mercedes next day to see what it would go in for and they gave us a much better price, that was expected though cause mercedes is lot more expensive so it makes sense

other than that I'm taking everything out of this car before it goes for sale, which might be soon cause its hittin the 50k miles soon

damn...how on earth does a 23 year old Ford mechanic afford that car. sticker on it is around $39K. even on Ford's employee program it's still gotta be well north of $35K

Finance mgr told me his payments were going to be $800 a month. I asked that question too. He said he lives with Mommy and he was calling the Cobra his house.

I don't want that mech. driving my car!
