Softball bats

Any of you out there know anything about good softball bats like
Mizuno orange crush
Easton Stealth
Easton Synergy 2
Miken Freak

I'm looking for some comparisons on performance and durability vs price.

Half my team uses the Freak. It's not as good as the Ultra II was last year, but is still a good bat.

It takes a while before it is broken in however.

Haven't used the others you mentioned.

Listen to Deteras...he knows a few things about holding soft balls

I was looking for something more on the stock bats...Here is what i can buy these bats for brand new.

Miken Freak $245
Mizuno orange crush $160
Easton Synergy 2 $225
Easton Stealth $245

the Mizuno is the only one that is not a composite and is still using aluminum which worries me. I have owned the Demarini's and Mizuno's in the past and they dent really easy and your lucky to get a year out of them. Also i play in 3 leagues in the summer and 2 in the fall so you are looking at 100 games a year.

The other 3 bats have all recently been banned by NSA so I am worried ASA might be next but more so they are a lot more money. How durable are they? Can I get more then a season out of them?

I've got a Demarini Doublewall Distance AX........and thus far it is the baddest bat I have used. $199.99, so it's pretty cheap also. :)

I'm telling you...............the Freak is the hottest stock bat you can buy right now...............bar none.

With your size you could swing a wet noodle and hit one out.

They were good bats a few years ago but now there is alot hotter bats on the market.

You won't go wrong with the Synergy 1, Synergy +, Synergy 2, Freak and Crush. What association are you playing for? What type of balls are you using?

Actually it's harder for me to get a level swing at my size......but in the rec league I play in, we can't hit more than three out per game or it's an automatic out. Left field is 365 center is 411, I have knocked one out.......one. There's a guy who plays in the competitive league, who also plays in my rec league, who has smacked two out at least, in every game he's played in. He's 5'8" about 180. So size ain't shit....it's all about the swing.... :)

All the leagues are ASA. I know a couple of people who have the freak and one of them already has a ripple in ther bat. The Crush i like the feel but I am worried I am going to get screwed with ther dents because it is aluminum. The synergy 2 is an awesome bat but I have no clue on the durability either.

The Crush is composite, aluminum, composite. It is the best value of the bats out there. It hits all balls great. Balanced bat. The Freak is also a solid stick, especially if you got the first ones with the old end cap. The Synergy 2 is durable (more so then the S1) as it is constructed differently (fibers and material). Whatever choice you make will be fine. Most leagues/tournies in the north east have banned the Miken's and Synergy's from play

Thats a huge ass field for softball! The fields I play on are 325 in the corners and 350 in center or the short field which is 310 in the corners and 325 in center...lots of bombs there. We have a 2-up rule. As long as the other team is hitting bombs you can hit as many as they do plus 2 before it will be an out. So if they hit 2 in the top of the first you can hit 4 in the bottom of the first but then no more until they hit at least one. Its fair because it keeps the traveling teams from slumming it in the B leagues.

i used to use the Ultra 2.. now I use the synergy.. I'd like to try out the Freak.
