so...as some may remember (or cared to) I went back to the auto industry in sales...
our dealership as a group has volvo/saab, subaru, vdub, land rover and chrysler dodge ram dealerships all at different location...
last week I was sent over to chrysler dodge ram from volvo under some very odd pretenses but went over because the vp asked me to go over there
upon showing up the manager at dodge called me into his office and offered me dbl my salary, with less hours and the entire internet dept (lotta traffic) along with higher commission. I was reluctant to go because I feel like the gang at volvo saab has already become my family and the pre-owned cars are all high end cars but also didn't feel like I had a choice because the vp kind of snuck me out from under my manager to get me there and I was told I was the person they needed to turn the place around
dodge is kind of the step child of the auto group.
so far whats happened in under a week is
the lot kid I suggested for sales at volvo saab just got offered sales pt today
I said the carpet in the lower level of the dlrship needed to go
they started ripping it up today
I said the carpet in the upper level needed to go and they needed to stain the concrete (its like a lodge motif)...they started getting quotes on it today
I bitched about the lot...they had it reorganized the same day
I fussed about advertisement...they told me what the budget was and asked for my ideas on it
and my salary has in fact dbled as well as my sales due to starting to take over the website (nowhere near done don't hate on it)
so one of the managers at volvo saab before I took the offer alluded that I needed to sort of go where they needed me if I ever wanted to be promoted to management
so now Im starting to kind of panic because they've taken every suggestion Ive made and...what if I fuck up???? I've never run a fuckin dealership! does this sound like this is heading for management?
I now have the vp and the heir apparent's cell phone number since taking this position, and they chat me up now...which is not unheard of but very odd for a sales position!!!
arghhhhhhhhh the pressure! am I making a mountain out of a molehill??
