For basically enacting tougher "enforcement" of current immigration laws...??

In reality that's all Arizona is doing. Yeah some of the profiling stuff doens't sit well with me....but why is the govt. grousing about what Arizona does with the illegals that they do find? It's what their supposed to do anyway isn't it?

SOmething tells me that corporate america isn't liking where these Arizona folks are going with this and that their cheap labor could be getting de-por-tayed before they have a chance to filter through the rest of the country. This is fucking bullshit. Either come out and say we're for illegal immigrants swarming into this country or let the State of Arizona do their thing. This is going to be interesting to watch...I hope Arizona bows up and tells them to fuck off. Civil war anyone?

They will bow to King Obama.

meh i hope not.
the az governor has balls so far, not capitulating to
his majesty's bidding.
what a complete waste of money and gov time, with all
that is so fuct at the moment (hmmmm, oil spill/UE/banking/
costly healthcare bill/etc.)
Obama's re-election depends on immigration reform, i.e amnesty

the first law i was fine with the second is ridiculousness that would deport kids born here

The second isnt a law. Some people just floated the idea, but it will never pass anyway as it goes against the constitution.

The law that they have no is perfect. If you happen to pull someone over, you can inquire as to their legal status. If theyre illegal, they get deported.

I dont see what the big deal is.

WTF didhappen to the healthcare bill?

It passed, but its not really reform at all.

It really blows, actually. The only thing that changes is that now people who dont have insurance are forced to purchase it.

feds will state. az will lose. az will also be out a lot in legal dollars and lost business.

we can see which state is the moron here. All az has to do is pay illegals to go to cali and they can get the same result and have 10x mor impact.

c

let's not turn this into an obama thread. When it comes to a state challenging the fed it is absolutely "irrelevant" who is in power....they're going to go after the state. Both Sr. and Jr. would be doing the exact same thing. THis is about corporate interests in this country being served. They are not going to give up their cheap no benefit's necessary work force without a fight.

It just shows in the end who owns who in this country.

Give this man 5 shiny silver dollars!

Funny how people think the govt is the big brother yet they spend 40 hours in a chair being slaves to some fat old guy doing exactly what he tells them. lol! Oh and banks that do everything possible to saddle you with debt and houses you can't sell, so in essence you can never "quit". Welcome to the big SCAM on your lives! Bet you didn't learn about that in school! (i bet the kids in fancy ivy league boarding schools learned about this - when being groomed to become the bosses, politicians & owners in life).

I love the saying "Yes. You have freedom. SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!" lol.

I would love to read a line of logic that shows how mean-old corporate America is behind this.

It's still legal to start your own enterprise though. Slavery/employment is not forced on you, start your own business. Which is what I have been wanting to do for the past 3 years.

b0und (2 more year of this ratrace, tops)

Smart man. NOthing wrong with the ratrace, as long as you pick a job/career you ENJOY doing.

Of course, how many people do just that and not just chase the paycheck? :)

corporations own our govt.....corporations main reasons for existing are to cut costs therefore maximizing profit therefore looking better to investors therefore increasing stock value............corporations love cheap labor........arizona law, if widely accepted in more than one state, could severely drain the supply of said cheap off the books labor..........hence the fed coming in to nip this in the bud.

Is that clear enough for you?

You've piqued my curiosity now. Exactly how many of the US's 12M illegal aliens do you believe work for publicly/widely held corporations?

Hint: Most nannys, gardeners and day laborers haven't launched their IPO's yet.

This should be good. I can hardly wait to see what you write next.

You've tapped me out for today in the squatting debate.....there's only so much retarded I can take. But feel free to educate yourself on where exactly those 12+M illegal aliens end up working. I'd like to say you can't be that fucking stupid that you don't realize that the vast majority of them are not gardners or nannies.....but I can't say that anymore. I'm questioning now whether you're in fact a real person because the responses from you are mind numbing. I'll let someone else take this one up. Those 12m, yeah right try double that, illegals have way more of an impact in corporate labor than you have any idea. Or you do but are playing the douche because you are a douche who probably has at some point benefitted from illegal labor and you really know what's going on but for the sake of haivng a good time at EF you're playing teh innocent. Whatever. Maybe bakeme or Dj can esplain things to you but I'm done for today.....time to go lay out and tan by the pool.

Wow. More rambling.

Let's do some math. Math is your friend.

Most credible estimates have the number of illegals at ~12M.

Let's split them into three buckets:

1) Underemployed / dependent / very underage / criminal enterprises

2) Sole proprietorships / small partnerships (i.e. lawn cutting service) / day labor / housekeeper / nannies

3) Full-blown employees of corporations powerful enough to wield some degree of political power.

How would you split those 12M up?

Have you been an employer in your life?

Watch foodinc....watch how the big food companies use illegal labor. I'm not explaining it to you because I know you already know how they do it and frankly I'm tired of your act. So really i'm just telling anyone who's reading this thread to watch that movie and you'll see how the benefits of that kind of labor work their way up through giants like cargill, monsanto and other various food megapowers.

So how many of those 12M immigrants are working for big food? 20%? 40%? 60%?

Shoot a number. I'm dying to see this play out.

work for a few bucks an hour, no benefits....the big agro companies are all over it, well documented. Whats also well documented is how much stroke those companies have in washington....watch foodinc, they detail the revolving door.

And I'm dying to see you stfu. You know full well it's how much money that labor saves those companies.

It's a simple percentage. C'mon. I know you can do it.

Are 50% of all illegal aliens involved in big corporate America? More? Less?

I will back them anyway I can. SHit i hope they go all the way with this and keep at it.

This is also called a debate diversion tactic.

You know full well many companies employ illegals and pay them little money - you simply want to argue so you can look cool on the internet.

I hope your taxes rise to pay for their pregnancies, emergency room visits, welfare, incarceration and schooling. Why should only us californians pay more taxes? share the burden bitches!

Apparently this question terrifies you and RS, so I'll answer it for you.

Corporate America has fairly little influence or interest in illegal immigration. Aside from a few industries like poultry processing and agriculture in the southwest, it's a non-issue.

Illegal immigration is a political problem, not a corporate one. This is posturing to see which party captures the vote of the fastest growing demographic in America.

See? Now was that answer that hard?

You love playing the "word" game to debate don't you?

We're talking about specific industries like garment, farming, restaurants, hotel workers, construction, babysitting, etc. which widely use illegals.

These also fall into the category of "corproate america" unless you enjoy paying $2 for your head of lettuce.

Have fun playing your debate games, just keep paying your taxes bitch.

Oh yeah, that booming garment industry!

I forgot entirely about that one. I wonder if that industry will ever move overseas. Oh btw, welcome to 1960.

You seem terrified to throw-out a number, so I'll toss one out. Let's say a full 1/3 of those 12M illegals are employed by corporate America (which is a huge overestimate).

Our domestic workforce is around 150M people. And corporate America is going to mobilize a national campaign over 4M/150M = 2.7% of the workforce?

The numbers simply don't add up, even if you artificially inflate them.

don't you love how he glosses over companies like cargill and monsanto? But he's right, those two are really meaningless little players with little to no stroke in washington.....:lmao:

Monsanto? That's pure genius! They must be tapping into the illegal immigrant pool of Mexican Ph.D.s in molecular biology and life sciences.

What exactly do you think the Monsanto company does? This should be interesting.
