So, how impressive is Michael Phelps?

Who beats who, um... well we can't tell, because the one was from a different time period. One could argue the training now is so different that the old guy, if trained like the new guy, would beat him. Then we could argue that the swim trunk are a tad bit tighter. Or that Phelp's shaves his legs better. Or that other guy you mentioned wasn't at his prime when they raced each other. Did that cover it?

Thorpe retired.... and Phelps was inches from beating him last time they raced. And Phelps is in his Prime NOW, Not back when they raced. Phelps in his prime would beat Thorpe in his prime, even without the new pools/swimwear.

Nah - don't agree. Thorpedo dominated when we was younger all the way until he retired. Nobody beat him, including Phelps.

Well.... Phelps almost beat him when he wasn't in his prime. yes I know.... A loss is still a loss.but Torpedo has what? 5 golds in two games? Phelps has how many?? is it 9 now? sounds like Phelps is a little more dominating...Just sayin.

Half from relays.

I will tell you all what's impressive.

Greek weightlifter Pyrros Dimas won gold in 1992, 1996 and 2000. In 2004 Olympics he was still able to take bronze.
