I dont understand. are they good for your immune system or bad?

right this is what we hear. about the lowering of the immune system. But people with HIV or AID are having good results from the stuff.. Can i get an explaination thanks..

Steroids can have what is called a serum effect on the body. This is where the body sees the foreign substance you put in it as a threat and uses the immune system to attack it. This causes flu like symptoms fevers etc. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe in this state when and if your body has this response your body becomes more open to other viruses attacking since it is using its resources to try to fend off the aas's. Also I believe your body can be very open to viruses when you come off of aas's due to the crash that many people experience. I believe the main benefit to people with HIV from AAS's is the fact that they help pervent the extreme weight loss experienced from the virus. Preventing this weight loss helps the body stay stable and ready to fight off infections and viruses. I don't believe the same would be true in a normal healthy person.

i believe they boost your red blood cells, which is good.

HT you may be confusing the role of red blood cells and white blood cells. white blood cells fight infections.

it doesn't seem AAS would have a role in improving your immune system, but may help the body gain strength and weight from the ravages of illnesses like AIDS and cancer and from severe burns and spinal cord injuries. AAS are prescribed by docs for these types of conditions.

AAS improve one arm of the immune system and weakens the other. I cant remember which, I think its cellular immunity function that weakens.

Its very good, but.....If you are ever having an operation then you will bleed heavily as a result of your AAS use

why ?? is it a problem with clotting? or just the extra blood you seem to hold extra red blood cells??

Well, because of all the extra red blood cells, this will obviously cause alot more bleeding when your being operated on. I had a big problem with an ingrown toe-nail last year. Anyhow, out of the blue my surgeon rang me up and said "Hey man, we had a cancellation. If its possible do you want to come in tomorrow". Now, I jumped at the chance, but never considered my cycle important as I still had a couple of weeks to finish. Anyhow, never told the surgeon as I was unaware of the importance. He told me after that I bled very heavily and that I was stupid not to tell him in case any complication had arose.

good good to know bro. what exactly were you taking?

Usually it will weaken at first because it is a foreign matter. Then it strengthens and then when you come off you crash and it has to build back up.

it all depends on what you are taking and how much...and yes when your red cell counts get higher you tend to bleed more because your body thinks it is fighting a infection and you usually produce less platelets which are the clot forms in your body so the less the platelets the more bleeding.Although some people are different...you could have high red cells and also high platelets which causes you not to bleed at all because your body thinks it is extremely healthy.

Interesting discussion going on here. I am a Deca and testosterone, plus B-12 IM user, also cycle with Oxandrin or alternate. Deca is know to boost the inmmune system and highly reommneded for hiver's. Point of notice I use low doses of test and Deca which also keep me from having to use Clomid or HCG or Novadex and still put on good mass. Just depends on how big you wanna get. I have been on this therapy 1 year non stop no side effects whatsoever by contolling the doses. Also yes the added body mass LBM is a strong point in fighting off th advancement of the illness. If you would like more info go to medibolics.com good resource, the book "Built to Survive". Many of you may be familiar with it. If not its a must have even for healthy people the guidelines are amazing. I know I am super healthy HIV+ on meds on steroids and looking dam good. All my enzymes, blood levels, cholesterol etc are super also due to nutrtion and suplements that fight off the bad stuff and of course the ever forever WORKOUT ROUTINE!!!!!!! Cheers and peace to all my brothers and sisters
