i want to board whistler sooooooo bad....man i have seen it in so many movies and in the mags.....colorado is awesome YES but whistler is the stuff!! lucky you v.......:D

I'm headed up to Whistler in Feb. It will be my first time there.

I still have and ride my burton aysm air :D I pull it out for special occasions.

One of my favorites? That would be passing a guy who was in race plates. He came down a few minutes later and told me that was the fastest he's ever seen anyone ride ;) I didnt tell him I was on the very "edge" of control.

He never passed me the rest of the day. one of the best fast days Ive had.

I'm glad to see there are some riders here.

PS- Utah sucks.

Almost all the boards are good now. Burton still kicks ass but you will be fine with anything. Hell I still have my old SIMS cruizer.

burton all the way for sure...i have been riding burton forever...plus the rest of there stuff is real sweet too.....

thats a sweet story about the guy in race plates....i have stuff happen like that to me all the time.....im only 4'11, so when i get into the pipe...guys are like...man its a chick...shes gonna suck..etc.etc....then i kick all their asses, cause i am so small i can pull major air and fly down the hill.....funny!

oh yea...there are a lot of other riders too...thats one of the first things i looked for when coming over...

spider...haha! ;) If u are reeeeeally nice to me, ill give ya a discount!!
p.s. --- i wanted to know how long it takes to make glogg?

Kronkette --- you are sooooooooo kickass!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna be just like you!!!!! ;)

See thats the shit that keeps me going.

I'm all into major speed and air. I enter the pipe at about 25mph, speed past everyone (only on light days) and hit the end with a basic 100'method :mix: . One of my favorites. I allways get a lot of "whoa's" from the chairs :D

Hey guys I never have tried snowboarding, But I have been skiing for about 14 years and wakeboarding for about 4. I have really been wanting to try snowboarding but for somereason I always ski, I guess cause im pretty good at it and dont want to try something i might not be good at. If snowboarding is anything like wakeboarding I should be alright if not than ill be sitting on my ass all day while my brothers go down double blacks :).

O by the way does anyone here going to Park City Utah??
anyway thats where i go for a week, this year i wont be able to make it though cause of college

:(

I skied before I boarded. I never went back. I borrow my buddys skis once every few years.

Its nothing like wake boarding. At least I dont think so anyway.

I'm not a big fan of Utah skiing.

##spiderbaby##

yea i wasnt sure about the wakeboarding thing, just that it is a smiliar board...

ummm just wondering how come you dont like utah, what places do you prefer are better j/w?? The only others I have been to are Kilington, Blue mountain and camel back, the PA ones sucks ass too all ice, but its cheap and close... o by the way I was thinking about trying Lake TAhoa my step dad really likes it there.

Tahoe is cool. It is pretty slick to carve your way down to the lake. It seems like your that close. Like your going to ride down to the shore :)

I just never liked the UTAH experience. Park city was the nicest but the most crowded. The terrain seemed limited and short.

I'm with you on the PA skiing. Its pretty bad just like all the east skiing. Kilington is in a class of it own in respect to east skiing.
I dont even consider riding in the midwest anymore. I learned alot growing up there because you can hit the same spot over and over and over all day to learn.

Colorado is good and so is Wyoming. I cant wait for Whistler this year. Everyone tells me nothing compares.

what up i'm from Chi-town and i can say that our little rolly polly hills SUCK!!! i've been riding for about 5 years now, i still got my first el cheapo board, it's a Ride board....last year i got myself a new O-Sin with clicker's....that board is so ill.

i don't do too much park riding, i'm more into back country and carving fresh tracks in the early morning and hitting the unknown kicker's. that's where i get my rush from.

~p~

Na im not that close its just its easy for me to go to Utah my dad owns a few condo's there. Plus I travel alot, well i used to in highschool, this is my first year in college and i cant just get up and leave anymore lol:( owell, its all good

I went boarding for the first time ever this past weekend. It was fun as hell, and I can't wait to get back to the mountains. I think I need to work on my form though, cause I'm sore as hell. More knee bending and less toe curling.

I definately need to get my own boots too.. those rentals hurt like a mother.

Allways remember to look forward, down the mountain. Most people including myself dont look far enough when learning.

-of course you can leave anytime when your in college, that was the whole point in college. heh.

littleflex, I have been to Park City and will probably go again this year, it wa pretty cool, but then I didnt go beyond the bunny hill....;)

HAHA! I just noticed the baby in your spider avatar....I never really looked at it too closely before because it grosses me out....

Headed to Heavenly this weekend! Can't wait....

Skipped the baording last year, the snow in Calif sucked, but this year its GREAT!

Fav places: Heavenly, Squaw, Kirkwood, Bear Valley....

Love to ski too....

Snowboarder here. Got a full Burton setup on a Motion board. I'm just waiting until Jan for the slopes in Colorado to get a nice base and some decent powder.

Kronk/Kronkette, you guys are in Colorado huh? What's your favorite place to board?

Hell yeah I board!
Salomon 450 Board.

I hit Sunshine and Lake Louise in the Banff area, or Fernie in BC.

Btw - Fernie RULES.

We are freaks for Breckinridge. Pretty much the only place we ride, however, I love getting up to Winter park in late January, damn, there is so much powder it makes me want to cry!

Breck is my favorite too, although is does seem hard to find any powder there. I have the Breck, Keystone, A-Basin 5 day pass. Maybe I'll wait for a big snow and head out to the Outback at Keystone.

That is very true indeed. I can usually get in the pow up on lift 6, then drop out into the cucumber bowl, then I head straight down across the cat walk, and shoot down little johnny. That is a sweet run, and hidden in the trees around the middle there is a nice tree slide, pop off that, ten more feet and the is a little jump that I swear I have got at least 5 feet of air from. WOO HOO! Big snow coming on Saturday, maybe 12inches they are saying, lets hope!

I've only been to The Outback a couple of times, and that was 3 years ago. You think it would be worth spending some time there looking for powder instead of at Breck?

I'm planning on going up sometime in Jan so I hope it snows nonstop until then.

Ive been to the outback a few times and there is pow there for sure. Yea, you might try that instead.

You know where there is so much powder and its cheap as hell. There is a place outside of Larime WY ---damn I forget what it is called, its like Snowy Ridge or something, I will check it out. Its like $20 and your ass deep in pow all day long.

I still will take brek though, its just the whole experience, place the board park rocks. I love the little mountain town thing. I always start singing the "South Park" little mountain town song whenever I go there. LOL

I've been boarding for about 11 years. Got a Burton Floater now and am going to get a Canyon in a couple of weeks. The snow isn't great up here yet. I am hoping that Christmas break is fruitful.

Woohoo! Spider, looks like you've got company after all!!! ;)

Yea! I come home and looked for my thread and was like "now were getting somewhere!"

I know there are more people on this board that ride, there has to be, there just has to be!

Just free boards, gloves, etc. Only get money from the borders I teach.

oh, just free gear  hehe. I'll take that anyday! your talking to a man that pays retail :(

Doing something you love and getting paid and perks is good living. Sounds nice to me.

I think when I finish my degree this summer I will move to Whistler for a year and teach full time. I get $30 an hour and no taxes. Always wanted to do that for a while, plus I have a few friends that just moved there.

OK what do I need to do to become a snowboarding instructor?;)
I dont blame you, I would do the same If I were in your position.

Whistler has over 12' of new snow just this month! Its going to be a nice trip this year.
