Smith Machines

Do you think they are the best route to go if you work out alone?

Also I've wandered if they take out the stabilizer muscles? I talked to one guy today and he says the Smith Machine doesn't but I'm not overall confident in the guy.

later bros...

I'd only use them for calf raises and hanging my washing.

Best to get a powercage.

They do take our the stabilizers, it can only go in one plane.

Go for the power rack, smith machines are an expensive clothe hanger :P. They do take out your stabilizers since you're moving in 1 plane and the bar is already stabilized. Plus, the smith machines can be murder on your joints.

I have a smith because I lift alone. It was a mistake the lifts were not natural and was getting injured so I bought a power rack. Don`t make the same mistake.lol go with the rack.

I work along on heavy squats all the time and I am without a heavy spotter.

Be sure to learn your limits. . .also the cage has safety bars in case you fail.

smith machines............. no no no no.

use a powerack and set saftey pins to catch you incase you need it.
