Slow weighted negatives with abs?

I've been doing negatives on the decline bench for abs. It really burns like hell and leaves me tight. I know eccentric contractions cause more muscle soreness, so I don't want that to influence my judgement. Has anyone ever dne negatives on the decline ab bench?

hey if you like the eccentric ab moves, try a 45 second weighted negative. 45 seconds all the way down, real slow. i know 45 second eccentric dips are hardcore, so try that out and reply back. unless that's what youre talkin about when you say slow reps. if so, never mind

No.

Don't know. But adding some weight on there will wear them out quick. I think it is more important to add weight if you are not already doing that.

I always do weighted declines. However, I just recently started doing the negatives to finish off the abs.

Just because "it burns" doesn't mean they are necessarily getting a better workout. I agree with al420, just up the weight.
