im 17, 6ft and 148ish pounds... at these stats i guess i should be extremely cut trouble is im not.. i kinda have a gut but my hip bones stick out theres a lot of stuff that really doesnt make sense. MY Bf is probably pretty low but only my top two abs show. Anyone else know what could be going on? In the 2 months i've been lifting i'd made lots of good strength gains and gained about 20 pounds. BUt even when i was around 127 pounds a mere 2 months ago i basically had the same fat levels i'd say more or less. I also have been for most of my life pretty inactive no sports or anything.. i tried football when i was like 13 but i stopped cuz i weighed like 80 pounds and was smaller then everyone by a lot.

You sound like you still have some baby fat. It will disappear as you mature more (physiologically speaking).

At this stage, you should be eating clean foods at about 3000 calories per day and busting your ass in the gym. You will surely see a difference.

2thick is right... hard work, dedication and clean healthy diet will get you bigger, stronger and more lean
YUM

i used to eat once a day... 2 times max and sometimes not at all.. I started eating more frequently and working out. Yea i know its not all muscle.. but i've made a lot of really good strength gains.. and yea i probably do have a bit of baby fat.. im still growing i probably grew an inch and a half in the last 2 months too so thats def part of the weight gain. Just started getting hair on my chin to and its barely any so i got a bit left to grow.

Take it easy on yourself my man. You're young and maturing. You've only been hitting the iron for two months. That's a blink of an eye in training terms. Give it time...As in years. You have made tremendous gains thus far and most of the adaptations you have made have been neuro-muscular adjustments. Once the muscle you have can no longer handle the increasing poundages you will grow new muscle mass. Right now your body is making the best of what it already has...Efficiency. Once the muscle you have becomes inadequate...Look out...You will explode. It will be soon. Within a year you will have made the neuro-muscular adaptations and you will require more muscle mass. Diet is the most important thing you can focus on to facilitate growth. Learn all you can about bodybuilding/strength training nutrition. It will get you further than anything else. Eat right. Eat frequently. And most importantly...Be consistant and be determined. Your body at this age is primed for growth. Eat right, train right and you will grow and physically change beyond recognition. Be patient and it will happen young grasshopper.

Step 1: Find out what your bodyfat is
(buy a pair of calipers and learn how to use em..OR...have an expert test your bodyfat via calipers, but you may have to pay a price for that)

Step 2: If you are over 10%, diet until you reach under that number. If you are over 10%, it's time for you to bulk up.

I think u have step 2 backwards or something. "if u are over 10% time to bulk up."

Bonez if I where u I wouldnt worry a whole lot about BF, I mean if u are under 13% your fine just eat right and u'll grow like a weed! worry about cutting once u have gotten some good solid muscle!
