The first 2sets weren't that much of a big deal, but i'm really not used to this kind of volume on squats ... so I felt dead on sets 3-5 lol.

I usually just do a box squat 1-2RM or a 20RM, just one set ...

PH,

How's the weight gain going? To reach your potential you are going to have weigh 300+, IMHO. The price you pay for your height. Good luck!

Thanx for asking Screwball. I am 241 right now. The weight gain is going real well. I am solid and strong with functional weight.

I can only take one day at a time but I see myself reaching the goal in the future. I only know how to do things one way, the hard way.

My potential in Strongman will only come out when I am 300+. I do honestly believe you.

Excellent! You are ahead of the game. Build a solid plan and implement it. You and the rest of the "The Northeast Crew" are doing some amazing things. Keep hitting it hard, Hammer.

I can't see the pics or videos :( (except for the duckwalk pic of PH)

Looks like you had a great workout though! Very strong.

Sorry, I took the vids out cause I checked the logs and people were downloading the same thing over and over. Wastes too much bandwidth.

I'll leave them up again for a while, until people start doing the same thing:

Just click on the link, all 4 of them are there.

looks like fun! needs more light in the squat room. hehe.

how did you make your power stair setup?

I keep it dark for a reaosn Nate. I lift in a dungeon so any light that comes in must be from our emotions.

T3C made the power stair with some galvinized pipe, 2" cuplings tha convert into 1.5 gal". The handles are 1.5 gal.

Any critiques?

Finally got to see the videos. Looks good. One thing I notice on the banded squats, you are losing tension at the bottom. You might want to hook the bottom of the bands to something lower. Just an idea.

How tall are you? That's one hella long squat :)

We're both around 6'3-6'4. Not much lower we can put the bands. :(

sk* and Hammer,

Bigguns is right. You need tension on the bar at all times. The band should never go slack. Where there's a will there's a way. You need to find a way to choke your bands down right at the floor. The more band tension at the bottom (and at the top) will increase the effectiveness of the exercise. The taller you are the greater the range of motion (all things being equal) and greater band tension will be created.

No two ways about it... Powerlifting favors a shorter/stockier build.

We can tie the band on itself. It'll work, but it will increase the resistence a good bit.
