The question is not did the 6 do wrong. Obviously they did. The QUESTION is does a 6-on-1 schoolyard fight justify charges of attempted murder. If it does then the white kids that jumped the black kid BEFORE that fight should have been charged too.

Shit ain't normal. In my experience, the very worst kids....in a highschool of over 2,500 (much larger than the community in question)..there was maybe 3 (for drugs, not battery) who had felonies....

I don't know about 2-5 years, but some time in jail (1-2 years) will help this kid out. He knew he was on the borderline and still couldn't stop himself.
