singles deadlift training...

has anybody here trained their deadlifts with just singles?

im planning on doing speed singles like recommended by WSB. i however, will start off with a slightly higher percentage of my max.

It is funny. I would only do DLs every other week or so and
always after squats. I would generally only pull two sets.
After about five months of pulling, I got to the following.
The first set would be at 405 X 3. The second set would be
at 500 X 3. 4 or 5. I never pulled to failure in these workouts.

I tried singles twice. The first time, I worked up to 585 and
failed at 585. The second time, I got to 615 and stopped
after success at 615.

I started training WS about 2-3 weeks ago. I am hoping that
WS is going to put my DL through the roof.

When we do train deads, it's only once every six to eight weeks and for heavy singles just to gauge progress. We use the conjugate method to build our weak links and save the deadlift for the contest.

I think the deadlift is best trained for singles. If somebody can post that article Tate wrote that would be perfect. The negative does nothing for your deadlift strength and is actually very taxing/draining on your whole system.

def pull for speed singles
i do about 60% of my max because the point is not to overload with weight, but to build speed
pull against bands or chains

and i usually do 10-12 singles

and btw pulls need to be done every week

not heavy but done

some advocate this others dont
my experience and reading says to do it every week
not necc. pulls from the floor
do either speed work, iso pulls, rack pulls, pulls againts bands light or heavy, chains, trap bar, romanian DL

as long as it is some pull once a week
