simple inj question

Just curious about this.. quad inject, 1" 25g. Before I inject, I flex the quad, feel for the muscle and then put my finger there to mark the spot.. relax the quad, then inject.. now there's obiously a tiny "pinch" pain when the pin goes in, and thats about it.. now if I press harder I get a different type of pain, like the pin went into something else. a more spread out pain (i wouldn't say it's sharp, but it's not dull).. is that the muscle or something else? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

If it was a nerve you would know it..maybe you are close to a nerve.

ok, I guess I just want to make sure I'm going IM and not SubQ. So no real pain should be felt (normally) except for the initial skin penetration?

yeah...I get pain hours later but according to some people on here I am doing it wrong. The actual injection should hurt just as much as a shot in the glute or shoulder when you go to the doctors.
