Sikh police want bulletproof turbans to be developed so they can serve as firearms officers and deal with public order, a newly-formed body says.

The British Police Sikh Association says Sikh officers cannot currently do such jobs as their religion prohibits removing turbans to wear helmets.

If they pay taxes, they have a right to serve as officers. Question is right to serve vs. right of safety. Gotta come up with some middle ground. I thought their rule was just cover the head, don't know what the problem is. Ain't that big of a deal.
