Shoulder Pain While Squating?

i get pain in my front delt or my rear delt sometimes, and it's usually enough to stop me from doing squats all year round. what is it, why is it happening, and how do i stop it? one of my friends has the same problem so you wouldn't just be helping me out !

Are you taking your shots in your delts? If so you might want to wait another day or rotate your shots to some other area of the body.
 
MY PARTNER HAD TO USE SMITH SQUAT FOR A YEAR BECAUSE IT HURT TO BAD TO STRETCH ARM BACK, MILD ROTATOR INJURY.
 
bro...

is the pain in the front of the delt mostly. if so then it's probably your bicep tendon. you'll need to improve your flexibilty. try searching on bicep tendons and see what i'm talking about...
 
I got it too, left side only, front delt- just seems like the shoulder does not want to be put in that position for more than a few reps
 
it could be so many things....A-C joint separation, bursitis, trap strain, C-C joint separation, tendonitis. Too many possibilites...go see a doc. I wouldnt guess it is a rotator cuff problem if you dont have history of trauma or overactivity.

oh....if its your bicep tendon it will hurt when you do a curl. The reason it could be a bicep tendon impingement is because the bicep tendon goes through the shoulder capsule, between other muscles.

try this

i had the same trouble and a bud suggested i do squars at 1st of the week i had been doing them the day after bench it made a huge difference i didnt think it would because i didnt hurt the day after bench until i squated i think that the tightness limited the range of motion its worth a try:D
 
thanks for the reply's guys, i think that it could be a combo. of my flexibility (i'm not the most flexible person!), rotator and when i do squats. as for the bicep tendon i don't think it's that because i don't get any pain from doing curls. thanks again
 
Do not move your upper while squatting...my guess is you hold your hands too far and go forward with your arms on your way down. try to hold closer and go down with no motion from the arms.....
 
HI,

I do front squats exclusively, the bar is on my clavicle and it is impossible to do them incorrectly with out losing balance.

But there is no strain on my shoulder or my delts.



You can only use about half as much weight as rear squats, but it really gets the job done.
