What do you guys think??? I mean how many times have you taken advice from a mod(on any board, not just EF), just to find out they are not quiet what you expected. I mean, Ive seen mods on a couple of AAS boards that should be ashamed. I mean if you claim to be an EXPERT, don't post pics if ya look like Pee Wee Herman. I know, I know, you dont have to be a genetic freak to be knowledable about AAS, but there are a lot of "4 star" members for instance that don't have a clue, but since they have 1,000 posts(800 bumps at least) they get credit for being special on Elite, and sometimes give advice that's questionable.

Do you see any of the personal trainers of coleman or cutler or any seasoned pro being gigantic? No, they don't engage in the activities, they just know a shitload about them. Hell, Ive seen big fuckers that wouldnt know a lick of shit about steroid use. Size has nothing to do with your knowledge....

Fact is Nimrod has all the support on this thread because the bro knows his shit. He has helped me a great deal and I'm sure others would agree. He is more present and helpful than some of the Mods( no offense to any of you Mods :D )

For one, Some mods might not want their pics up for legal or professional reasons... alot of people might check out this site and notice a picture of their friends. There is only so much blacking out the face will do to hide your identity.

i would like to see a pic of all the mods. i don't think its smart to judge intelligence by appearance, but i do like putting a name to a face. the only ones i've seen are conan and 2thick in his avatar. i'm for it.

Wasn't there a post like this just the other day? Same thing....it might be interesting to see photos, but it doesn't really matter. Some guys will post them (like me), others won't for various reasons......most BB'ers are never satisfied with their appearance, even if it's excellent.....that's why we keep lifting.
It doesn't take too long to figure out who has knowledge, and who doesn't, just by reading the posts. I don't need to see Macro69 to figure out he is one smart fucker, for example.
I'd rather see pics of the keyboard badasses, personally. No, not you guys......you fellows are not chronics, just a misunderstanding or difference of opinion, so make up and go on.

Let me just say this Nimrod is not only one of the more intelligent people on this board but he also is very giving with some very sound advice that has made a marked difference in my size and strength- so stop fucking flaming him and appreciate his answers to some of these threads which many of them are the same shit repeated over and over.
 
Sorry, but its pretty easy to tell who is a child just by looking at who starts the name-calling.

If you post in a thread for no other reason but to call someone a degrading word, then you are either a little kid, or an immature adult who isn't worth wasting your time with.
 
I personally don't see the need for pics of the mods. You can tell how helpful and knowlegible they are by reading their posts. Their appearance won't tell you much. Look at every olympic athlete (track, swimming, shooting, skiiing, gymnastics, etc.)- do you really think their coach could do what they do as well? Obviously not, but that doesn't mean that the coach can't teach them to become better than they could on their own. At the very least, that's what you could consider the mods. I have a feeling, however, that the mods might not hold true to the olympic analogy I made - I'm pretty sure that most of them can and do practice what they preach.

A picture of someone is not indicative of their knowledge. The least usefull information is usually spewed by the biggest goons in the gym...
 
i think pictures would help...

are they needed, no- BUT, i do feel that attitudes would be very different around here if pictures of mods were required along with some real biographical information about the person. i don't care how "smart" someone sounds. it only makes sense that a person should have all the facts about who they are asking questions to. otherwise you can often get the blind leading the blind. this topic has been approached a couple of times by myself and others now. i know that for me personally- i don't like seeing 18-19 yr old mods. i have nothing against them but they don't have the experience in life or gear to be MODS but they are. i stress that this is my opinion. i've often wondered how many people that ask for a specific mods advice know the age and experience level of those they are asking. i've thought about this at length and have come to the conclusion that young MODS can be beneficail in the fact that they jump on some of the more basic and easy questions that newbies ask and for that I think we all should thank them. 3 years ago i used to answer questions half of the night. i liked thinking and chatting about gear all of the time. i was 28 yrs old and had 6 years of cycling under my belt though. i got tired of answering the same shit over and over and eventually stopped answering any questions pertaining to cycles or whether or not gear was good or not. there was always newer guys coming in wanting to prove themselves and be heard so they took over that function.
i understand that some people don't want to post pics and that's fine. there are plenty of good reasons not to post pics of yourself - it would definitely change things though...

I seriously doubt that a photograph OF ANYONE will tell how knowledgeable they are about their craft.

If you see a ripped beast of a Mack truck guy will that ensure that he knows all about anabolics / gear, diet and training?

If you see a woman sleek, strong and defined like a wild cat will that ensure that she knows all about diet, training and the effects of anabolics / gear of the female body vs. the male body?


On the flip side - the condition of their body will tell a story but not a complete one.

I can understand where you are coming from and I guess thinking about it I do agree with you on some levels.

But I wasn't aware that we have 18/19 year old Mods - but then again I could be wrong. (No really - I didn't think we did - I'm not trying to be a smart ass - honest.)

Your right, he's good with answering questions and it's obvious he knows what he's talking about. I just think he talks alot of smack. I really don't want to go back and forth about this. Forget I said anything. I'm here to learn and listen to other folks questions and experiences. i would imagine she wanted you to re examine your comments that - if you saw a riiped mact truck beast, would that mean he knows alot about anabolics/diet etc... well, it would mean that chances are better that he does or at least someone close to him does. how many people get that way otherwise? also same goes for the comment about the women. seriously bro, who would you take advice from. someone a little older who is big and ripped or (fill in the blank here) i agree it's not the only indication of knowledge but it is a good one. i don't care how smart someone sounds. what really speaks volumes is experience. i would be willing to bet that there are more ripped beasts that do know about the gear an diet as opppsed to the small and undefined...

I totally agree about the experience part - but sometimes the exterior of one's body doesn't reflect the experience they may or may not have.

1- My ex the big mofo body builder (remind me I'll post his pic) DID NOT KNOW DICK about anabolics, he just ate like a horse and worked out 1 to 2 times everyday.

2 - I've skated with a women with killer bod, who's idea of nutrition was a b-12 shot and a bag skittles everyday.

Looks and experience will tell the story - one without the other does not tell a complete one.

Been thinking about it....... I still think you would need both.

A photo will tell you A LOT but you still need the knowledge to back it up and vice versa.

The only comment in my post that was directed SPECIFICALLY AT VELVETT was the part about me being in love with her..... tee-hee

The rest of my post was directed at answering the question at hand.... whether mods should be required to post pics and an individual making a decision about whether or not to take advice from someone based solely on thier appearance.

Would I tend to listen better to someone who had the type of appearance that I would like to possess? Yes, but that would not be THE ONLY fact that I would take into consideration when deciding whether or not I should "mess" with my body. I would research FIRST, gather as much information as I could, learn as much as I could THEN I would decide whether or not I would take the advice of someone from an internet chatboard or from a trainer at the gym for that matter.

Ultimately - I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY OWN BEHAVIOR BECAUSE I AM A REASONABLY INTELLIGENT ADULT.

Key word being ADULT.

I think this is what matters here most. Not how big the person is you got the info from. Not how long they've been researching. It's how much YOU'VE done to prepare and further your own knowledge.

One is on the A-board, and another is ont Sheets/pics/diet
board.
