Saw a guy at a club last night he must have been about 5 foot
6 walking around like he was king shit, admittedly he was big
but all the chicks around me were saying it was obvious he had
a complex and tried to overcome it by being big, Must admit
I wouldnt tell it to his face though.... all I can say is that Im glad

well I am a short little bastard myself,about 5'7''.Basically you have 2 choices,short and skinny or short and big,I choose the second one.
 
All the best bodybuilders are short. It's much easier to look thick with shorter muscles than it is when you have long ones. It's also a lot easier to move bigger poundages for them as they don't have to move the weight nearly as far as a tall person. Most chicks don't know shit about bodybuilding so who are they to judge this guy and claim he has a complex.
 
I am 5'7" and 235# @ 6.5% so I fall in to that catagory. Like I give two shits what a bunch of chicks in a club think! I get my pussy all the time and it is Phine! Why would I want to look like some string bean swimmer!

I'm 6'6" but I have nothing against the shorter men and women being big, there's a point for everyone and that's for them to decide... If you think they look stupid, do you think that - if they have any kind of self respect - they will give two fucks what you think about their size in relation to their height? I'm not saying I'd rather be shorter but I'll say it is much much harder to "look" big when you are my height compared to someone who is 5'7" range, although I'd like to think I look big already and I'm getting bigger.... I'll tell you what does piss me off though, short OR tall skinny guys who walk around with their legs out and their arms out like they are too big to have them fall normally... It's funny as hell to watch when they roll the 100 100 pound dumbbells to their bench and then after 5 minutes get them to their lap and their spotter has to lift the weights while the guy SUPPOSED to be doing the lift is just keeping the weight straight for his spotter to lift... THAT is fucking aggrivating....

People can't help it if their short or tall. There are advantages to being both short and tall. If you are short you can build muscle a lot faster. If you are tall it takes longer. I am 6,2 and have trouble building my arms because they are so long. You just have to deal with what your height is because there is nothing you can do about it.

Well I'm another one of those little guys only 5'6 219 lbs and going higher with 10% -12 bf and for as the complex thing I might of had one but I don't remember but what I do remember is that before I was bigger I was in karate for 9 years and NONE of my TALL or short friends would mess with me or spar me for very long.And I have worked out with some tall juice heads. And for as the women saying short guys must have a complex my wife gets fired up every time we go somewhere the babes from even age 16 on up are flirting with me and i'm laughing to myself, All this bodybuilding stuff has done is get me married 3 times and looked at like a piece of meat and you act like us short guys don't get our share of the good looking babes you must have been in a gay club. lol And before I forget if I had a choice I would only want to be maybe 2 inches taller and if that would make a difference in the way i build neg i would just want to stay like I am because right now i can grab the 100 lb dumbells on incline flys and do sets of 10 -12 strict like taking candy from a baby hey even without the spotter lifting them for me haha so i think i would still have a good right hook.

Well guys i have to tell you, everyone responding to this thread with an agressive overtone or flaunting their manhood and strenght is obviousley pissed off and reveals the very thing they should be trying not to and that is the famous "short men's comlex". Just gie it up. It does not matter what the height is. But there are certain universal truths, like taller bodybuilders will always look more appealing, but only to a certain extent. As for the strenght issue, it's all weight related, not height related, that's why strongman competitors are all above 6 feet with only minor exceptions and some go as high as 7 feet tall. That kind of height can be harnessed with the proper training regime to develop some of the strongest bodies on this planet. But they are not as common as the average height person.

But the truth is that a tall body builder can pull off the massive muscles thing a little better that the short bodybuilder, because the shorther man will be characterized as muscle bound by the AVERAGE onlooker. Not by me though, just to set the record clear.

I know it's an impressive site to stand next to Marcus Rhul and Lee Priest, but there is definitely something to be said for the tall type of monster body builder, perhaps because they are more rare? Anyway, peace and good trainig to you all. I personally Love to train with shorter training parters because we can off set eachother in the gym with 2 completly different approaches, with me being over 6'2.

Because the with all the "stats" I have been reading ( 5'5" 255 7% bodyfat, blah blah blah.....) you should all have your npc pro cards.....or at least be competing on a national level....I am 5'11" so I'm not short and I'm not tall, but my weight is 264 Lbs right now and 7% bodyfat 2 and a half months out from a show, so I really hope I see some of you shorter monsters there, because with these stat's there is no way you won't win overall's and heavy's all day long, I smell some internet bullshit.....unless 45 lbs of your bodyweight is accounted for by roidgut......I guess we'll never know....and the guys that walk around in the "clubs" with their arms poofed out and chest stuck high....one word douchebags.......it's called imaginary lat syndrome, can't keep their arms down......peace
 
I'll be competing in Nationals in 2005 or 6. I also am just 5'8" 190-5 10%bf. Hopefully in about 3-4 more years i'll have enough muscle and maturity to compete in Nationals.

Hey and i say again he might have been in a gay club, the girls might not like him either and if he was in a straight club the same girls that said that about the other guy prob made comments about him when he walked off being a beanpole or that he has a big nose or ears or thin hair or crooked teeth. I wished I WAS shorter.....I am 6-3 and weigh in around 230. (I have been dieting/cutting and have been "off for 3 months now)

If I could keep my same BF level and crunch my muscle mass down into a 5-10 frame, I look a lot better, i.e. look like the image I am trying to achieve.

im with you bro, im 5'7" and while i dont weigh as much as you(217- 7.5%), i feel im a decent size for my height. and my wife thinks the same, so im happy. i would never want to go back to being skinny like i was when i started my bodybuilding endeavors(135). ive come a long way and have more to do.................:D

you have a point bro, but i dont think our height bothers us, its the people around us that seem to have issues with how tall we all are. and it tends to piss us guys of shorter stature off when we get bashed for being short. we are working just as hard as the taller bros to get where we want to be too. imho, its better to be tall and huge, but we deal with the genetics as well as we can. i happen to be short and gettin bigger, its all i can do.

When in reality, and i speak from experience, i have never thought of anyone as inferior or what not just for being shorter then me, and i am 6'3. This very rarely happens, but in the mind of a short man they FEEL likey they are looked down upon, when in reality they are not, so hence the cockiness and BIG attitude. Do you think shorter people had a choice in regards to their height? Yeah, I'm sure something just got messed up when they placed the "special" order for their genetics. Life ain't a Burger King brother, you get what you're given in the line of genetics. This thread is a little out there. Who cares how tall someone is, it doesn't mean shit. Sometimes I wish I was a little shorter as it would make squats a little more condusive. Not to mention the fact that shorter guys tend to look and get thicker than taller guys. What i think is so funny is that tall guys think they can kick anyone's ass who is shorter than them. My friend thought the same thing until one night we got into a scuffle and i almost put him through the window, i using about 50% of my strength :) I'm 5'9.

Shit i had scuffles with short guys in the past and they always went down like shacks of shit. I just use all my experience from the years of Greco Roman wrestling, all i do is lock then up and lean all my weight into them. It's a beautiful thing, even if they are strong enough to lift me, my long arms do a good job of smothering them and lifting them off the ground like they were little kids. Gotta love being tall. LOL!!!

I prefer to be tall and thick, takes forever to achieve the same look as the shorter guys but in the end it pans out.

I wrestled freestyle back in high school and my first year in college. Have a buddy that went all american. Anyways we had a mat practice with some of the greco's a few years back, and they had the worst takedown defense I had ever seen.

When in reality, and i speak from experience, i have never thought of anyone as inferior or what not just for being shorter then me, and i am 6'3. This very rarely happens, but in the mind of a short man they FEEL likey they are looked down upon, when in reality they are not, so hence the cockiness and BIG attitude. And to the Tall on looker like myself i see another cocky short guy trying to look big.

i didnt even know i had a complex until i saw this thread.................:D thanks for filling me in on that bro. ive never walked around with I.L.S., ive never flaunted my size(which , for my height, is pretty decent) i just been livin my life as a 5'7" bb'er with the goal of gettin wider instead of taller. if some of the taller brothers dont like it..................well , for me, therein lies the complex.
