Shipping Prices at AF are STEEP!

Lumberg

New member
Was just over there checking out some R-ALA and the cheapest shipping option is UPS ground for like 7 bucks. There is no way it costs $7 to ship two bottles of 100 pills each. $7 is one third the proces of a bottle.

Why not offer USPS? That shit is way cheaper. I am willing to pay a few bucks less for there being a 1% chance of losing it as opposed to a .2% chance.

UPS does charge more for residential deliveries but we are still waiting for the post office to pay claims for lost packages from Feb. So far they owe us $1200 in lost packages so they can kiss my arse. If UPS makes a mistake they pay for it, not AF or the customer. Beside USPS costs $4.14 for that box so you'd save a couple bucks at most.

The USPS is also now basing rates on distance from the originating "zone" - so the further away the shipping destination, the more expensive it is. Not so bad if you live smack dab in the middle of the country, but it's expensive as UPS if you live on the west or east coasts.

I'm calling BS on that one. I have shipped many packages large and small and a small box the size and weight of two pill bottles does not cost $4. Priority mail is like $3.60 up to a certain weight which I am sure is below the weight of 200 200 mg pills plus 2 plastic bottles.

I understand your reluctance to use USPS. Why don't you give customers the alternative to use USPS but you will not be responsible if the package is lost?

I just HATE it when you think you've found a good deal on something and are ready to check out only to find that shipping is going to add like 20% to the cost.

Again I am willing to take the risk on USPS. I have shipped and received probably 35 packages over the past 2 years without incident. If you think of UPS as "insurance" the "premium" is way higher than the actual value it offers.

Sometime the cheaper is the most expensive, USPS tracking system on line is a shit, you couldn't compare it with FedEx, USP or DHL I need to know the status of my shipments every hour so if something is wrong I'll know it at time.......

I rather pay $2 extra and make sure I get my package. Everyone knows how unreliable USPS is.
Stop beeing cheap.:D

OMG! I can't believe... this blaming thread has started because of a few bucks!!!??? Where does this world go??? :bawling:

ULTER

I've placed an order yesterday for 3 boxes of pills (R-ALA, Detox) to be shipped to Turkey with UPS and it gave me a price of ~$58. I order quite frequently many stuff (heavier and larger) from US and UPS cost much less. These 3 boxes of pills should have cost much less...something is wrong with your deal with UPS:confused:

Johnboy,

The service you talk about applies only within US and within Europe (sometimes) but no courrier ships something overseas in one day.

As for the cost, shipping 3 boxes of pills is very high no matter how you ship it.

I have shipped hundreds of packages USPS over the last few years. I have found when they are sent uninsured A LOT of them never make it. But insure them for $50 which costs about .90 and I have had less than 1% dissapear. It only costs me $2-5 a package.

You guys and your bitching over a couple bucks...

I'll have you know that the last time I placed an order with AF Ulter was personally concerned that I might not get my r-ALA prior to my running out. (I reordered pretty late.) Not trusting 2-Day Express... he hopped into his '69 Volkswagen bug... tossed a couple gallons of Diet RC and a couple bags of Doritos in the back seat... and drove all night to hand deliver my order to me in LA.

Because of his thoughtfulness and work ethic - I had my r-ALA with breakfast that morning!

Not only did Ulter drive across country (in only 23 hours!) to deliver my r-ALA - but while he was here in LA, he also took an extra day off from his duties back at AF to go down to the river and find a primitive lost tribe of homeless shanty town dwellers called the "River Rats." He taught them how to read, shared his left over Doritos with them, and let them drag race up and down in the dried creek bed in his VW bug.

And you guys bitch over a couple bucks on postage?

That was hilarious SofaGeorge. My VW's a '68 though.

I can't believe this thread is still on the first page. Joncrane the package weighs just over a pound with packing and the shipping box. I am happy to hear you have been sucessful with USPS. I have been in the shipping business for 23 years bro. There is no bigger headache than USPS period. UPS has never lost a package they didn't pay for immediately while the USPS is joke when you have a claim. Did you know you have to wait EIGHT WEEKS just to file a claim? They lost so many packages I lost count and there is no way that we will use them anymore. EOS

tell you what....i sent something to a dude in hawaii, and UPS used next day as their only shipping option for Hawaii. therefore the dude would have to pay like you said, 50 bucks or something, and still not get it for a week. so you pay for overnight charges, but get your stuff whenever they get it to you. we did USPS and it cost like 8 or10 bucks. just he had to wait like a few weeks due to the weight of the item to get it. UPS is outrageous outside the continental US........but USPS can't be trusted with important items. *shrugs* it comes down to a personal decision.

UPS has 2nd day air to Hawaii and it's $26.

If your package is late with UPS there is no charge.

This was a torque converter for a car (read: heavy as a Mofo)....so the only option at that weight was overnight charge. and they let you know that it gets there as soon as possible, but not any specific time frame (although it would get there ahead of the USPS best timeframe). just trying to make the point that UPS is a bit harsh with their charges outside the continental US, especially on "special" packages. e.g: heavy, large etc.

OK, lets everyone who ever had any problems with UPS come over here and blame it on AF and Ulter...LOL

over $2?

yeah, when you see ulter.....be sure to kick him square in the nuts for john crane. :) lol.
M6 is more fun huh? lol. try having a 4 spd auto with 3600 stall vigilante coverter, shift kit, 3.73 motive rear gears, about 325HP on motor and about 400-450 on N20 and i'll show you some fun driving! you'll piss your panties! lol. everyone thinks i got a manual until they look inside. it drives like one, but i suppose it would be a bit more fun actually shifting the car. i guess i am an automatic wussy baby. :havoc: now stop bumping this thread making AF look like slow ass shippers.
