Shin Splints in Ulna or Wrist Extensor or Flexor damage?

Lately I've been having some serious pain in my wrist / forearm area,..feels like its in the bone like a Shin Splint. Really feel it when doing preacher curls (was using 120 & had to drop weight because of pain), and not on the pull so much but more when the weight is directly above the forearm vertically at a 90. Been sore like this for a couple of weeks now and switched things around a bit doing hammer curls which dont seem to bother me as much.

Anyone had any similar experience and what did you do?

( I know its been awhile since I've posted last,..been goin pretty hardcore here the past few months and haven't had much time to stop in and say WaaaaaZuuuuup!?! Have gained another 12 pounds and set a couple more PR's for myself since I've been away, a new Dead PR @ 430, and a new Bench PR @ 415 ) :chomp:

sounds similar to what i have..NS has gone throught the same thing as well..i can tell you your really gonna have to rest itor cut your weights in half an increase your reps..im going through another spell of this too..im using 50-70 lbs on preachers (depending on hoit feels) then i do like 2 sets of cable curls for 20-30 reps..thats all i can take right now for my bi's about 5 sets total..

get yourself an anti inflammatory and an elbow sleeve..but really youre gonna need some rest..good luck

Elbow sleeve? Does this help in the forearm area?

Been poppin some Aleeve on off days for the pain and have been using a strap on my injured arm for Deads & WG Pull-ups & Rows (gettin quite a bit of pain there as well in my compounds). NG Pull-ups dont bother me, doing them hammer grip. But OUCH!!!
Dont wanna take the time off right now either (got 3 more weeks on current 8 wk cycle) but will try doing higher rep lower weight work and then will take some SD time to recover.

2b' Is the pain in your Ulna or Muscle itself? Had shin splints a long time ago in the military and the pain feels very similar.

shin splints happen when the periosteum (sp?) tears off the tibia usually from some sort of stress (ie, runnning, jumping), and can lead to hairline fractures and such. i'm unsure as to if such a condition could happen in the ulna/radius, maybe tearing of the interosseus memberbrane (sp?) - the fibrous tissue between the two bones.

sounds like what you have is just tendonitis/bursitis or just pure joint inflammation... curling too much you arm people :p i know personally that preachers/curls in general cause this pain.

like wnt2 said, rest it.

imho, stay off the drugs altogether. if it dulls the pain it may prevent you from knowing if something is really wrong. pain to me is not something that gets in the way, rather, your body's way of talking to you. listen to it.

rest lots, lay off for a week or two, ice it for now to reduce inflammation, then use a heatpack the days following.

nope..no pain in my bi's its in the elbow area and the forearm..the elbow sleeve i have covers a large portion of my arm so its helpful to the area your having trouble with..it wont be a miracle but you should notice some relief..
