She's burnin' a bit rich.....

was that a Fiat?

i've seen a car smoke that much, but it all was coming out of the tail pipe.

ah yes, my first car...the dark green 81 Monte Carlo, dying 229ci V6, auto, painted with the words "Smoke Bomb" in florescent orange down sides, wheel well to wheel well 18" high, rims spray painted orange too. it smoked pretty bad. buddy told me to change the oil and put a quart of trans fluid in with the fresh oil to clean out the inside of the engine (it does work). he didn't tell me til afterwards that trans fluid smokes like a forest fire.

fun times.

Didn't know that about transmission fluid cleaning out an engine. I bet that car did smoke real bad.

yeah, trans fluid has some detergents in it or something like that. i was told not to run it too long with it in, maybe 2K miles or so, then change it. but after 2k miles in that hunk of shit, i had added a quart and a half of oil to the engine, so it was pretty much burned off.

know how i checked the oil in that car? watched the tail pipe when i started it and while driving it. if it didn't smoke like all hell, i knew it needed some.

wish i could find pics of that car in it's "post senior week" painted condition. it was hilarious. my dad didn't think it was, but i sure as hell did.
