Shaving!

mmmh..
That's what i'm thinking...the cream will irritate certain areas if you are not extremely cautious.

It's not just irritation, if that stuff comes in contact with um...more pink than usual areas (i.e. works inwards) you will likely wind up absorbing it into your body more readilly than you would through your external skin (like a suppository). Considering some of the junk they put in those creams...

I prefer shaving and shave daily since my hair grows fast, shaving the area is fast once you get the hang of it and takes me about a minute in the shower.

Initially, the hair will need to be trimmed with scissors and a comb to get it short enough to be managable by a razor. I like baby oil to shave with on my privates, nothing else is smoother and you can see exactly what you're shaving and it can be reapplied easilly and it's inexpensive (my husband prefers liquid antibacterial soap). My favorite razor is the Venus, it doesn't nick as easilly as some others and the head floats conforming to curves.

When you shave, the first go-over should be done in the direction that the hair grows in, then follow with another once-over diagonally (not completely in the opposite direction) and this will help avoid ingrown hairs. Rinse the blade after every stroke on the first pass, the 2nd pass you can do a few strokes before rinsing.

Keeping the skin pulled tight where you're shaving and that will help reduce irritation afterwards. I think everyone goes through some irritation when they begin shaving but if it's done regularly, that will go away. You can use a light dusting of corn startch to help. A stripper once told me that she found that using an antipersperant stick after shaving prevented post-shaving irritation. You can use an exfolliating cloth to help prevent ingrown hairs if it's a problem for you.

I've thought about waxing but can't bring myself to trying it because of the pain factor.

I'm not fond of the creams because they can leave an aftertaste on the skin. I also would be careful using it on a woman making sure not to get it on certain pink areas. The creams have to stay on for a while and for me it's just easier and faster to shave.

worth repeating.

not to mention printing

I decided to give Nair a try once more. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. My body does not do well with it. It claims to remove hair in 4 minutes but it can be left on for up to 10, so, I check after 4 or 5 min...nope, not done...wind up going all the way to 10, shower off with a washcloth as directed, not all of the hair is removed and I'm stinging! Next day I look like I've been attacked by mosquittos. Glad I only tried it on the lower half of my legs and no where else.

I've tried Nair and that NEVER works on me. I have to shave, and the ingrown hairs are HORRIBLE! It gets all bumpy and is sore. My hubby has a handle on here also, and he was told that if you rub the area with alcohol after shaving (burns like hell), that helps with the little bumps....but I still get them. It doesn't look nice. So, I only shave every 4 or 5 days now. I hate it!

Jens - Can you find out what brand of cream you buy at Walmart? Maybe I'll give that a try.
I've considered waxing, but I shave the entire area down there...how would they wax in the real sensitive area? I wouldn't feel comfortable giving them a show! :worried:

Well, I'm still researching. I'm not convinced. And the proof is. How pornstars do?. If you watch a porno or see nude girls pics, you'll see those "interior" parts shaved smooth and perfect like a baby...How the hell they do??. You girls do your own investigation...lol!. is easier for you to go to a pharmacy and search a good product for this. I can post pics of what I'm talking but I don't know if it's allowed in this forum...:)

No, the pic isn't allowed here. I'll delete it in a heartbeat without thinking twice.

I think girls in porn wax everything. A Brazilian Wax will get every single hair, even in places you didn't know you have hair. It really isn't that bad. They give you a little cloth panty to put on, but then they go and bend your legs all around and contort you to get all the hair. It isn't a place to bring pride. But honestly, they have seen so much, it would be a pleasure to do some of the people here (people who care about their bodies). The pain is there, but it is not HORRIBLE. Take a couple Advil (or something stronger if you didn't drive :) ) an hour or so before. And don't go the week BEFORE your period - pain threshhold is lower. For ladies, this is the way to go if you want relatively hair-free privates.

For men, I don't know. Most places don't wax men's privates. If I were a man, and wanted to be hair fre, I'd first ask a gay guy - he might know. Then ask a male stripper - he might know. Then go to some porn guys websites and email them asking them.
