sharp pain in forearm...anybody had this?

Recently, my left forearm has been giving me some pain when lifting. I get this super painful throb especially when I release the weights after a set of curls.
I have taken 3 weeks off my routine to give it time to heal, but I am a little hesitant on when I should get back on my routine.
I did see a doctor 2 weeks ago and he said I might have pulled or torn a tendon from lifting, but he is not sure and there is no way he can tell at this point.
anyways.. this time off has been eating me up and I just wanted to know if anybody else has had this kind of pain and what should I do about it. I am the type of guy to say fuck it and work through it, but i dont want to fuck anything up in the long run you know. Any info or advice on what I should do is much appreciated.
btw.. I heard your tendons get weaker when on a cycle. This injury happened midway through mine. Is there a vitamin or supplement that will keep your tendons strong when juicin'?

My forearms felt the same way, I don't juice though... And I was told it was similar to shin splints, except in the forarm...

I don't know, I rested it for 2 weeks, and mine went away.
 
You need the BUCKET OF PAIN!! Take a big bowl, fill it up w/ ice. Add water, then add your elbow. 15 minutes will go a long way towards getting that better!!
 
It is a forearm splint similar to shin splints. The best way to get rid of it is to not train biceps for about two weeks and then go back to curls with dumbells only. Forearm splints are most often caused by straight bar curls. Do not train through them. They will simply get worse.

If you do a search, you will find many have complained about the same pain. I also had it.

Although I'm not sure what causes it, some say its bad form, I only felt it doing preacher curls. Releasing the weight was at its most intense moment.

What I did was avoid preacher curls for several weeks (even straight bar was painful) used only dumb bells, and pain went away. try it..

I have the same pains too and have had for about 12 years. They went away for a long time but have just now started to come back. Bam
 
I get forearm pain every now and then. I just try to warm up my forearms well before doing biceps and release the bar slowly after a set of curls. I tried using a cambered bar but that actually made it worse. Now I use the straight bar for barbell curls. Also try not to use your fingers to hold the weight up- keep the bar tight in your palms toward the base of your hand. This will take some stress off your forearm muscles.

I have the same problem with straight bar curls. I get a sharp pain running from my wrist to my elbow along the bottom of my forearm. My advice....IF IT HURTS, DO SOMETHING ELSE.

I had the same pain...and this might sound strange but, if you do "skull crushers" try doing them lighter, or even better, not at all for a while. After talking to my doctor, it turns out that its not the curls, but rather the skull crushers (lying tricep extensions).
Something to do with the ligaments i think.
Anyway, thats my experience, it went away in about 2 weeks, i also took some glucosamine. Who knows if that works?
By the way, i do skull crushers still, but never first and not as heavy.
