Pretty sore right now. You know though when it's just a little sore... Like you know you're not going to be sore in 48 hours. That's the way I feel. I would rather feel like I kicked my butt! How was yours??

Yeah, I'm the same way. I think it's the glut that is minimizing the soreness.

I'm sure you worked your ass off, just the glut works like magic

yes...greatly reduces pst training soreness...also free up other aminos to do othere things

Yup - don't worry CC

New PT - I'm not even gonna listen. If she said around 19-20% I'd wonder, but 23%????

Remember my theory Shadow? - she charged me $35 + tax & wants me to buy 3 1/2 sessions of $99............than my BF tests will be done for $22 each time.

WHAT???

bf test was $22

WTF??

I did them for free whan I was pting...DAMN

I am in the WRONG business....

Yikes. That's just wrong. For that $22 does she GUARANTEE her work?? At my gym they generally just tell u to go stand on the high -end tanita scale. When I came in asking for a skinfold measurement it was literally like a pop quiz with at least 3 certified trainers trying to remember how to do it. The girl who did my measurements actually asked me to do hers because she wanted to know. LMAO. I coulda charged her $22???

Oh bologna... No freaking way! You are way below that...

this is just FKED up.....

THIS is the bullshit that give us(trainers) such a terrible reputation....

Ok - I was getting tons of PT work at 60 an hour....

BUT

that included all the diet info...weekly measurements and bf test......basically 24 hour acess...and that hour was hands-on in the gym...meaning I wasnt being paid to watch her do cardio....

after 6-8 weeks they were ready to do their own thing because I TAUGHT them to read labels..analyze a diet..they knew about different training styles, etc

I just read this now... and Im speechless, but you already know that is incorrect

You look fab skit

Yeah, my PT now is $22 each time (she was $30 1st time - awhile ago) I thought that the norm.

That does NOT include any diet / training talk. Maybe I'm getting ripped??? What do you all pay?

Nope, I just thanked her. Had a bad morning & didn't want to say anything I would regret.

I just won't EVER go back to her :)

I always talk about how the trainers are bad news at my gym (other than my friend who is struggling there b/c he's a 'good guy' overall)... Get this...They told him speicifically "these people have money, you don't keep you clients if you give them results right away..." The others laugh at him, mooch off the clients pretty much. My friend gives free orientations, then 1st session offers diet advice also.

One session can range from $59-$68, and if it's with anyone other than my boy, there will will be NO diet advice period, extra session and $$$ for that. Also, some deal for like 6 sessions for $250-$275 depending on how long you have been there. Body comp stuff is around $35 (for calipers, bf scale, measurements and maybe you get to hold the fat & muscle samples they have in the offices)

LOL

ShadOw is truly my hero here...I appreciate all the time he puts into helping us

aaawwww thank you.

My gym mebership costs 33$ Canadian dollars a month and includes fitness tests every three months

9. Lacking Food Balance in Meals

Imbalance is rampant in this off kilter world. Food consumption is no exception. Balanced eating as defined by some nutritionists is not quite the same as balanced eating as defined by the muscle elite. The optimal feeding, according to the elite, is a skillful blending of lean protein, starchy and fibrous carbohydrates, minus amounts of fat and no sugar. The proportional divisions vary depending upon individual characteristics. Some folks are carb sensitive and need to keep starchy carbs to a minimum, otherwise they blow up like cartoon characters who've swallowed an air hose. Others thrive on a diet heavy on potatoes and rice with no ill effects. How you metabolize food is as individual as your hair color or height. You need to determine how foods affect you. Rule of thumb for proportional balance: 50% calories from carbs, 35% from protein and 15% from fat. This is a good starting point, and careful monitoring once on this 50-35-15 regimen will dictate any necessary adjustments. The goal is building muscle and reducing bodyfat. How do you achieve a real world balance with traveling around with a scale, calorie book, and calculator?

50% calories from carbs, 35% from protein and 15% from fat.

FROM YOUR LOG:

2/1/2005

7:30
2 Whole Eggs, 1/2 Cup Egg Whites, 1 Slice FF Cheese, 2 Fish Oil, Orka, Red Pepper

^^^FAT

10:20 Post-workout
2/3 Cup Oats, 1 Scoop Whey

^^^NO FIBROUS VEGETABLES

1:20
4 oz. Chicken, 1/2 TBSP Olive oil, 1 Fish Oil, Broccoli, Cucumbers

^^^FAT

5:00
~ 3.5 oz. Chicken, 13 Almonds, Lettuce, Celery

^^^FAT

~8:00
1/2 Cup FF Cottage Cheese, 1/2 Scoop Whey, 2 TBSP PB

^^^FAT

so....LET'S RECAP:

50% calories from carbs, 35% from protein and 15% from fat.

IM EATING 40/30/30 ON A DAILY BASIS

"The proportional divisions vary depending upon individual characteristics. Some folks are carb sensitive and need to keep starchy carbs to a minimum"

YOUR SPLIT:

ASU said:
This is what Im looking at for the next 2 weeks:

1300 cals
43.5% protein
13% Carbs
43.5% Fat

* Im only counting the carbs from the oats (post workout)
Veggies, cottage cheese, protein shake carbs not included with my 13% ratio

Every Wednesday Night = last meal will have a Cliff bar or a balance bar

...this is getting pretty sad.......if you spent as much time fine tuning YOUR diet as you do obsessing with mine...you might make better progress.

I can't understand you :(

you post this, but YOU don't even follow this. I don't think you even know what you want. Till you figure that out, I don't think anyone here will even consider your suggestions, let alone your criticism.

Your job as a bodybuilder, well my job in that case (that Im working on) is to give your muscles a constant supply of amino acids! To saturate them with protein and keep them that way from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep. Each of your meals should be rich in protein and balanced with carbohydrates and fats.

And by the way.. peanuts is not a good source of protein

I posted the last day in your log.......

in 30 words or less please.

you are the absolute worst kind of hypocrit....you say "I know my diet is a mess.....but I know what Im talking about."

Works for me.....I'll put of all my project gals against the ASU plan any day of the week

The difference is ALL the meals are balanced with protein, fats, and carbs
even the last meal it will still have fibrious carbs, protein and fats

exception for the post workout meal (which is additional)

What do some people say , "actions (and pictures) speak louder than words..."

I say prove you know what you're talking about with some results to go with it...

ShadOw will have many different types of women to base his project after, with excellent results, as we have already seen

No need to continuing arguing people... there is obviously a difference of opinion

You seem to believe in the 'zone' diet - that's probably a healthy diet for loosing weight, but I really don't think it would be appropriate for dropping BF after you reach a certain %. This diet focuses on eating for your lbm, not 1 gr + of protein per lb. Is this what your trying to preach????

Damn. I spend my day working instead of posting all day & look what I miss....

I think I'm glad I missed it.

Plenty of people on the diet board will say an isocaloric diet works for them. I'm not sure about the balance of all macronutrients in every meal ?? I look at my proteins balanced across all 5-6 meals, fats & carbs generally separated in diff meals, and look at the total macronutrient ratios for the day.

You ladies sound like ...... HAHAHAAHA I don't wanna say this HAHAHHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASU said:
You ladies sound like ...... HAHAHAAHA I don't wanna say this HAHAHHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, you could twist the argument both ways.

You feel that what you find works for you to be better than what these ladies/shadow have found to work for them. Everyone can spend as long as they want to tell the other that they're wrong but it will only confuse a whole boatload of people watching.

Bottom line is different people respond to different types of diets and oddly enough a specific type of diet is not always going to work for say one person all the time.

Either way, right wrong - changes always stimulate other changes and everyone just needs to figure out what will work for them.

It's not about who's right or wrong it's about putting your experiences up for display for you to track yourself and for others to review another's experiences to try and understand and improve on their own.

Hope that makes sense.
