severe joint pain

Hey, just posting for a mate of mine.
He is 290lb, 5`10, bit overweight but strong. He was on sust, dbol and deca up to a month ago and was benching 200kg for a rep, curling 80lb - basically a strong guy.
However, he is now off gear and is having really bad problems with his shoulders. He cant train delts or chest now as pain is high.
Is he best to go back on gear with some glucosamine, ibuforen, etc or just take a full month off training?
Any ideas what he can take to alleviate the trouble.
Cheers

Time off for sure. I went through the same thing 6 months ago. My bench jumped 60 lbs during a cycle and when I came off I tried to maintain it and hurt my shoulder. Now its 6 months later. After a month of doing flys and not working shoulder and then 5 months of hardwork im only down 10 lbs from my peak. If you never take time off the injury will nag you forever.

Didn't touch AS in the mean time and Im about to blow through another plateau in a week or so (Tren/Prop/Tbol). CANT WAIT! Just hope my joints hold up.

Is he still trying to lift the same amount of weights? Some guys dont realize that they must lower the volume when they come off.

No his bench has gone from 150 for ten to 150 for four reps. He is a fool in the fact he finsihed 14 weeks of gear and ran NO PCT!! I told him to take nolva, hcg, etc and he never did it. He lost a lot of strength and size due to it and he now can hardly train due to the shoulders.
What supps are good for him? I gave him so glucosamine, hes taking cod liver oil too...

290 @ 5'10" ... ya i'd say he's a " tad " bit overweight !!

Tell your buddy to do dips for his chest instead of bench ... at his weight he should be able to build a better looking pec area doing dips then he would ever hope to get out of benchpressing . Dipping 290 will be a challenge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seldom bench any more and if i do , it's only when i'm on a cycle .... there are far more effective chest building exercises that don't stress the shoulder half as much .

When guys in the gym ask one another " how much can you bench ? " I return the question " how many dips can you do ? "

Switch your benchpress routine for dips and you'll soon figure out what i'm talking about and realize how weak you really are .

I agree bro

if you arent healthy off cycle, you arent healthy on cycle, sounds like this guy is headed to a life in a wheelchair or early heart attack if he doesnt shape up his diet and cardio, as well as working out INTELLIGENTLY.. supps are to SUPPLEMENT a lifestyle... THEY ARENT THE LIFESTYLE ITSSELF... my gues is that he wanted to bust a cycle to get buff and pull wool??? that is dangerous ,, especially if he runs no pct,

sometimes with certain joint pain, even taking time off won't cure the problem 100%... depends on the severity of damage done... however, taking sufficient time off is a much better idea than continuing with heavy training, taking pain medications or gear

here is something I just posted about 10 posts down

Some products to aid your joints:
-Glucosamine and Chondroitin
-Meadowsweet, Devil's Claw, Wild Yam
-vitamin E and coenzyme Q10

One product that I liked a lot was "horsetail", especially in my tea.

get him to run pct now. and take time off from training. take advise from someone who has had 5 orthopedic operations.(2 knee, 2 foot, 1 shoulder) the shoulder is still not right

Hey I am 295# and i can do over 30 dips in a row ;) I agree it is a good chest exercise that is easier than shoulders. If he wants to gain strength add weight and go for lower reps. Like I add 45 plate to my belt and go for 3 sets of 10. You def need to lower the wieght when u get off. try to keep intensity up tho so u can grow, also rest more and eat more.

A couple of simple x-rays will show if he has arthritis and how bad. You mentioned Ibuprofen in your original post. Studies have been suggesting that overusing NSAIDs for arthritic pain is interfering with any natural cartilage healing that could take place. I'd try the natural approach and have a ortho doc assess the damage.

i have dislocated my shouoder 3x in the last 5 years playing rugby basically i get pions and needles thro it now most of the day. i train thru it tbh but i d need surgery which i am just putting off as i am svery scarred to go under the knife.

basically what i take to help witht he pain is diclofenac, paracemol with codeine. take the doclofenac the day before seems to work best for me anyway and then the paracetamol a couple of hours before. any day i do shoulder/ chest or have a rugby match my team mates know about my shoulder so allow me to take it a littl ebiut easy in triaing so it dont pop out again. then ed i will take msm and glucosamin, supposedly cod liver oil only work in very yound kids os i dropped it.

but bsaicllay if it is really giving him grive and he is dusch bag like me and want to trin even tho he should be stoppin

1. diclofenac
2. paraceamol and codiene
3. msm
4. glucosamine

the above combo is decent for joint pain.

Thanks for the replies so far, I have spoken to my mate with your views and he thinks Nubain may be his answer- either that or keep training using high reps and use 600mg deca a week to eliviate the joint pain.
This is crazy I have told him but wanted some more views.
Cheers

HE REALLY THINKS NUBAIN is the answer???? FUCKING MORON

i would strongly advise you to stop him if you care anything about him, i watched it take two of my friends from the top of their game to bottomfeeding losers in just over a year......that shit is the fucking devil....
