Serious medical question

I had ear surgery back in September and things havent been working out the way the doctor said they would, even though he gave very high assurance that it would. He said hes done many surgeries like this and basically said no problem you are going to be fine (in the beginning) but here I am 7 months later and its been up and down and now we seem to be at the end of the line and Im back to square one and its extremely frustrating. I dont think this guy knows whats going on because last time I went to see him the first words out of his mouth were "Shit happens" (not kidding). How do I go about finding a very good ear doctor? Its not like I can go to Consumer Reports and start typing names of doctors so how does someone go about finding a really good doc? Will be moving to Houston next month if that matters, which I hope it does since it is a much bigger city than where Im at now (austin)

"shit happens" wtf? This is a real doctor?
He said it in a very sheepish manner it was kind of jokingly but there was some seriousness there. I think he thought we were chummy because of all the times Ive been there or something but I let him know this time theres no more fucking around.

Did you do any research on this doctor or this procedure on the internet? Or get referrals of doctors well versed in this procedure?

Swearing is a symbol of lack of class or blue collar environments. If I heard that, i'd run.

This doctor is the referral of another doctor I was initially seeing whom I respected a lot who was also an ENT specialist but didnt have much experience with the particular surgery I needed so he referred me to this guy.

I would go back to your doctor and go 'What happened?' Let him advise you from there (tho he might just give you lip service for lack of anything to say).

Referrals are hard to judge. Sometimes they can just be referrals because the two drink margaritas together.

I'd still do the required due diligence on anything that is affecting my body. I'm sure there's an ear surgery forum somewhere. When I had surgery for my deviated septum - i spent 3 months doing research talking to people.

Are you looking for an ENT? if so I went to see one and he was great. He is based out of suagrland (well atleast he was 10 years ago). you are gunna laugh at this name but Dr. koverkian. Not the same guy. lol I went to school with his son. He came highly reccomended by a lot of people. Sugarland is SW houston

Houston has lots of ENT doctors you can choose from when you get here.

Dont sue him. I highly dount it was neglegence. Going into surgery you sign a consent. ome times surgery works sometimes it doesnt. Its called practicing medicine for a reason. They are humans not GODS.
Suing does nothing but raise medicl costs.

I dont give a fuck about suing I just want my hearing back to full again.

Do a search in sugaland for the MD I spoke of. I am telling you he is good and one of the best around there. I am a RN and do not give out refferals unless I know for sure about the guy.

Ok doc found something on the CAT scan about inflammation or buildup or something. so i got antibiotics and a methylprednisone (roids) pack, neither of which hes given be before so it seems we arent repeating old shit, which is a good sign to me so hopefully this is it. And I do know I have allergies so the roid pack should help that.

Yea it should help with any inflamation going on. Some of the perks of being post op. LOL I hope it all works out for you bro. Keep us updated
