I just got a call from the local bank drive, the lady told me they are desperate to help some sick kids out and she just pulled out the phone book and started calling people to see if she could get some to come give blood. I hate needles but figure it is for a really good cause. Figure yes I will no problem and told her I would let the other girls know about it and see if they would come in. The 1st girl tells me ewww no I am not letting no one stick me with a needle!! That pissed me off. It is for sick kids you stupid a@@!!! and she has 2 herself. Well, I didn't take a lunch break yet so now would be a good time for me to go.

I think it's a very personal choice. It's not like just giving some money. I used to faint when I got a needle. Maybe she's scared!

Mind you if a child really needed my blood, I would suck it up and give blood.

Well, it isn't like I do it on a weekly basis but it is for some sick kids, or at least that is what they told me. I just figured also if I can take getting tatoos then I can stand giving blood...and I would make sure the needles are sterile!

But I'll be damn if I didn't just drive over there and they are closed!!! It was 1:00!!!

those women obviously learned it too. good for them, and I hope the "sick kids" get the blood they need, but there are ALWAYS sick people with a need for healthy blood.

its like giving cash everyone will need blood. But i guess your right its your body,

but what happens if god forbid ur in a terrible accident, and need a blood transfusion, and your O+, and no blood bank near has O+. wouldnt u wish more people gave blood?

I am glad you posted because I was starting to think I was thinking like a crazy person or something. I thought there would of been more positive responsed than I got.

exactly my point, my mother needed a blood transfusion while she was giving me birth, and the only blood avaialble was my grandfather's thank god....

but since there were no supply of blood, i could have lost her....

Some people dont realize that Blood could save a Life, in fact that is what is going to be used most of the time.

Apparently it is in very short demand if they are having to call out of a phone book. It is something that is so small that I can give.
