Second week of deads....

I hated them at first but love them now. Consider me one of the converted.

I've been going for reps (225 in the 8-10 range), trying to increase body conditioning. I may switch to low reps and go for sheer weight for a while now (rep range 4-6).

to say i have been getting fantastic results from deadlifting heavy would be an understatement. deadlifts are hands down my favorite lift

How quickly can I expect to increase the weight.....and should I just stick to them once a week?

My body liked deads a lot, and I had dramatic strength increases pretty fast. I finally hit the wall at 495 a couple months ago. Going to try 545 on Sunday. I would like to do them every back day, but every other week seems best for me.

Oh sure....rub it in my face with your bragging....j/k.....good luck and let us know how it goes...

I just started

I have been doing stiff legs with low weights. I really fell it in my lower back. Don't feel it in the Hams or Traps. I have always worked them seperatly in the past.

Is the bent leg version better on the lower back. I am gonna have to stick with the low weights until my lower back gets up to par. I feel like a girly man in the gym doing deads with 2 50lb dumbells.

Regular deads and stiff leg are VERY different.

Dude tell me how? Never see guy's in the gym doing deadlifts. One or two guys every once and awhile. I never did them because I wasn't sure of the form. I would hate to throw out my back

Fro, why haven't you been posting in the chat area?? or at least I haven;t seen as much....just curious.

i'd say that stiff legged probably hits your lower back a little bit more as you're pivoting at your waist during the movement. at the bottom of a regular dead you're pretty much squatted down, thus hitting your quads as opposed to your hams.

why don't you toss the DBs and just load up the olympic bar to 100lbs? you're going to outgrow the DBs anyways(assuming your DBs don't go up to 150-200lb range), and you might as well get the form down with the BB.
