Search warrants

Anybody

If you bought gear from someone online, then he was busted and his emails were confiscated, is it possible that the feds might be showing up at your door with a warrant now that they have your address and an email confirming that you paid money for steroids?

No expert, but even if it came from your computer wouldnt they have to proove that YOU were the one that ordered it. ie - who knows who typed that and sent it off.

It depends, but in this case is likely the cops can easily obtain a search warrant. What you need to understand first, is that sending/wiring money to anyone by itself is not a crime regardeless the legality of the activity the recipient is engaged in to. So, to lawfully obtain a search warrant, there has to be enough evidence to support that the money you sent was to buy steroids. An email message claiming that you sent the money to the recipient only implies that you actually sent the money and that's it. But if in this case for instance, you also made reference in your message about an order number that matches any of the recipient's orders records regarding steroids, then that constitutes enough evidence to support that the money was sent to particularly purchase steroids. The other scenario which is very common, is that the source is forced to cooperate and surrender a list of customers/mailing adresses to the cops, so if your name or adress pops up out of that "cooperation" then cops may get a search warrant under the facts that they were able to determine that you sent the money, and that such money was sent to buy steroids according to your source's statements, regardeless that those statements are true or false. Therefore, enough probably cuase has been built up against you under the fact that is very likely that steroids might be found at your address or at whatever address you are currently living at.

Thx for a good reply bittersweet. Anyone know if there is a statute of limitations or time period after which they are not likely to act?

I'm gonna guess it's a pretty long time seeing as how some of the big bust's have been due to investigation's that have been going for year's. I'm not a lawyer though so i could be wrong.

There is no statutory limitation time. They can persue the matter at all times, however state laws may have some limitations. The problem here is that AAS cases may well fit into both jurisdictions (state and federal) depending on the circumstances of each case. Statutory limitations if any, varies depeding on the jurisdiction. So always play safe and think as if there are none.

If the proposed "Patriot Act II" passes (Domestic Security Act of 2003), they can come to your house and confiscate anything they want, without a warrent... and if you try to protest it or report it, you will be arrested as a "terrorist" and could be held indefinitely. As scary as that sounds, it is true. Research it... I have a copy of it if you don't believe me, you can see for yourself....

Yepp aint that some shit!!! Thank you all you bush votes that voted for this crook that lost the first election and cheated his way in and also thanks for relecting him again dam nuckelheaded people......No suffer in your own stupidity!

I'd say it depends on how good of a customer you were..They got a big fish and would want to get a bigger ie his supplier..I doubt they would want to waste time busting customers..

Yesterday I read in the Wall Stree Journal that something called FISA was just passed and they can listen to any phone conversation, and record it, then arrest you for something and you DO NOT have the right to ask WHY they recorded you, or WHAT/WHEN they recorded. They don't have to produce the incriminating recordings.

That means that they don't need ANY evidence against you. They can arrest anyone they want.

Is this the "land of the free"? Are we doing anything about this?

I am just going to move to another country where things are safe, and the government isn't corrupt.

Fuck the United States of America goverment. They are out of bounds, and anyone who speaks up against them is going to pay for it. I'm outta here.
