Scotts Fertilizer

Was using Chem Lawn here in Austin to do my lawn and have deceided to venture on my own as it was costing me $ 80 bucks every 4-6 weeks to fertilize. So I signed up for Scotts e mail advise on what to use per my zip code and was wondering if anybody here has used this?

I don't know much about lawns, even though I worked in a garden center once. But I do know that Fertilizer can be made into some powerful explosives.

Anyways, you need to fertilize your grass 2-3 times per year weather permitting. With you being in Texas, you should start fertilizing here soon. Definitely get one of those fertilizer spreaders. The kind that looks like a mini wheelbarrow. This will evenly distribute the fertilizer. Once you do this, make sure to water your yard. THAT PART IS VERY IMPORTANT. You will kill your grass if you don't. Which formula are you getting? Other than that, all you should have to do is cut it weekly and you should be fine. Of course a professional landscaping company would be best b/c they can treat your yard witht he right chemicals needed for any particular problem ie: crabgrass, mites, dollar weeds, etc. If you have the money, hire a company to do it

scotts has a program on line with dates to feed and put down different fertilizers. had a company but 900 bucks a year is a bunch if i can do it myself

Flex i have the scotts program, It works great!
My lawn is like walking on a plush carpet & NO WEEDS!!!!

I highly recommend it!

This is totally unhelpful, but that is the stuff that John Schneider advertises, which means I would use it anyway. I've had a thing for that man since I was little. :)

Okay, now helpful people can continue to help you. Good luck with your lawn!

mine has some green on it. St Augustine we have had a pretty mild winter with a few under 30 degree days but maybe 3-5. I will only use Scotts as other swear by it and compared to what I was spending this is cheap.
