This first one is me doing 315 on bench for 6. This is where I tear my left pec.
No comments on the pale belly.LOL

How long ago was the tear?
The reps looked great until the tear.
Scotsman said:Yeah he's one of the guys I train at my gym. That was on monday so three days ago now. Yeah they felt great and I was planning on hitting at least 10 before the tear.

djeclipse said:That sucks, it looks like you would have had the 10 easy.
Hope you have a quick recovery. What is the plan?
Scotsman said:Yeah I was thinking about 12-15 since it felt great but oh well.
Take a couple weeks off from training chest. Get the swelling and bruising cleared up then start super light and see where it takes me. Right now I'm icing, taking advil, and doing a lot of deep tissue modulation to help prevent scar tissue from forming.

djeclipse said:Are you doing the deep tissue modulation yourself?
Scotsman said:Yep, and let me tell you it isn't a pleasant experience.

compared to some of you beasts i feel like a faggot though![]()
it's all relativedjeclipse said:Shit, what does that make me, that is near my one rep max...![]()
Bino said:it's all relative
think about it, a 400lb dl is stronger than 98% of the worlds population.
Scotsman said:Seriously you are doing great so far man. I have been lifting a lot longer than you so don't try and do the same form as me just yet. Keep up the good work and great things will come to you.

djeclipse said:Great vid... that is my goal for OHP.
Why do you pause for so long at the top, doesn't that tire your shoulders/ tries?
I lock out for a short pause and then right back down for the next rep.
Scotsman said:Thanks
I pause at the top because that's the easiest rest point. At the full lockout the joints are supporting most of the weight. Also in competition you have to wait for them to tell you to put it down.

djeclipse said:I "rest" at the bottom, are you sating it's better to rest at the top, at lock out?
Scotsman said:It's a personal thing I like resting at the top better. Once you get heavy it's hard to breath with the weight sitting on your chest.

[B24] said:great videos, any squatting videos?
highlander555 said:I have a question about your pec tear. It seems like you have a good deal of knowledge and experience with lifting, so let me ask you this. In hindsite, what do you think was the cause of your pec tear (other than the fact that you were moving some awesome weight, of course!)? If you could go back in time, would you change your training in anyway to prevent it?
I know that sometimes stuff like that just happens for no foreseable reason, so I was wondering what you thought about it in hindsight. It'd be nice if others of us could avoid a simular incident.
b fold the truth said:Squats look really good man. I'm noticing just a few things but I'm sure that it is just from not squatting in a while.
Your flexibility in your hips and back is really great! Especially for a big guy!
Once your hams come back in the squat I think that you will sit back FIRST instead of down a little. Just minor but I'm sure you will take care of that quickly as your hams get stronger.
Make sure to drive those knees out on the last few reps. Moving in just a little as you got tired. Again...just weakness in the hips and flexors...time will fix this easily!
Looking good man!
Iggy- said:your a beast scotsman!!!!
question for you though,
what was your weightlifting split like before you injured your pec?
i'm trying to cut down then powerlift for a few months to gain some more mass after i lose a few lbs
