Scammers Vs. Real Deal

LanceCampbell

New member
I noticed the post by the newbie, where in someone replied stating that since he openly announced himself as a newbie that scammers would soon be e-mailing him. In an ongoing attempt to find sources, how should newbies or anyone who isn't a newbie but just hasn't found a source yet go about not getting scammed. Anything obvious to look for?

here's some of the things that i have read. if the source emails you than they are pbly a scammer. legit sources don't need to email for business. if they see a newbie post (scammers) they will assume that the newbie doesn't know any better and try to get their money.

best things to do are to try an get to know ppl and when you find a source, email the ppl you know and the mod's. the mod's on this board are great about returning your source check mail.

You stick around here for a while and get to know some guys and e-mail mod or twoand eventually you will find what you are looking for. Do not aks for a source on the boards and never order from someone unless you do your source checks with some Mods or Vets to make sure he is legit

find a source and check him out with some mods via email and see if they know of him and if he is legit or a scammer.

Is it ok to PM a MOD to do a source check? If not, what is the best way?:)

No, no PMs for anything of a sensitive nature. Email all the way. And preferably from a secure email carrier. However, in light of recent events, possibly nothing will be secure or private anymore.
