say no to shrugs

bros, dont fuck around with exercises such as shrugs when you can be doing heavy deadlifts and farmers walks to build superior traps and upper back
 
I like shrugs. I superset them with deads sometimes. Fun stuff.

Give it try.

Supersets are the shiznat. Try this for triceps

Pushdowns on one stack. Overhead pulls on another.

Set the weight to your max set from the start for both.

Do as many reps as possible with no rest between sets switching from overhead to pushdowns, etc till you hit 5 sets of each.

Oh the pain....
 
Consistent Shrugs has helped to develop the massive back that I have obtained. What is the best way to do them in your opinion?
 
I mostly use dumbbells and sometimes bend nearly 90 degrees at the waist. It seems to really hit them hard from that angle.

Agree with you on the farmers. My traps always get an awesome pump afterwards, and I feel like they have grown a bit since I started doing them (and i've only started doing them for a month or so). :)

I train the farmers walks like in the pictures above. IN those pics, I am using 325's on the first one and 375's on the second one. I'm getting ready for a contest where we will have to carry 365's for 200' with no drops allowed.

I suggest taking the heaviest dbells that you can find and do some runs with them. We will go a heavy set for 50', maybe a slightly ligher set for 100, or an even lighter set for 240' with 2 turns in there. They work the grip, entire back/erectors/lats, glutes and hamstrings. It will take time, but your entire body will grow from them.

When I started out...I put athletic tape on the middle of a pair of ez curl bars and used those.
