Satellite Beach Florida

Anybody ever been?? Nice place. . .very laid-back. Just south of Cape Canaveral. Today we had about a hundred sea turtles swimming around us while the kids and I were playing in the ocean and we got to see a rocket launch from the Cape. . .VERY COOL. Found an awesome gym to workout at too. . .so my hard-earned six-pack doesn't turn into a keg.

Next week Disney.

It's really a nice. . .I'd never heard of it before we decided to come here. . .we were just looking for a beach that wasn't to far from Orlando (Disney) and we found Melbourne (which is just a little south of here) and we started looking for places to stay and we found a condo (right on the beach) in Satellite. . .so far it seems like a nice kinda family-oriented area.

I've heard of it but I've never been there. They have so many nice places like that in Florida! I am going to Panama City Beach for the 4th and I'm going to spend a week in Gulfshores,AL in August. Did you bring the family there on vacation? Going to Disney?

yup family vacation. . .the wife and kids and me. . .one week at the beach. . .one week at disney. . .

it's my first trip. . .my dad was a heavy equipment operator and my mom was a stay-at-home mom. . .we didn't run with the "disney" crowd

i'm really looking forward to seeing it through my children's eyes

Satellite Beach is fairly unique for Fla in that some areas actually have small rocks along the coast/beach and out in the water, vs just wide flat sand.

I've busted many a toe and lost tons of fishing lures in that area surf fishing.
