My training style is unorthodox. Up until a little while ago, I had no weights and no membership to a gym. But I had a lot of property, so I figured I could develop something without weights.
I started squatting with stones on a platform, and also used the stones for deadlifts, farmers walks, overhead presses etc....
After watching an older WSM, I decided to make myself one of those notched logs for presses, and have been using that for quite some time now. I just bolt more wood or steel on the end of it if I need extra weight.
I pull "sleds", though my sleds are just big square pieces of steel with walls on all sides that I throw rocks and bricks on. It tears up the lawn, but I don't care for mowing it anyway.
I obtained an olympic set (barbell, DB handles) and have been using that for about a year now. I stick with mostly compound lifts. I mainly use a combination of some or all of clean+press, snatches, one armed deads, front squats, push presses, curls, weighted dips+chins, bent over rows etc..
Yeah, I guess you could say I train for strength. I'm not all too concerned with aesthetics, but I'm definately not fat or anything, though from time to time I do sport an ethanol belly, depending on the season.
How about you? I'd like to know what kind of things you're up to, my routine could use a change.
