I have a doctor friend who is willing to write a prescription for Serostim on my behalf. He doesn't, however, have a lot of knowledge about this drug.
Based on my own research, I know that my health insurance company requires prior authorization before agreeing to cover GH therapy. So, my question is this: If my doctor claims that I need GH to counteract AIDS-related wasting, then what dosage is the insurance company likely to agree to cover?
I don't want my doctor to ask for too little (so that I get no gains in muscle mass), nor do I want him to request too much so the insurance company rejects the request. Does anyone have any advice about how best to approach my health insurance company on this matter to ensure their coverage?
