I have a serious question.

Rush is always talking about personal responsibility and not blaming others for your predicament, yet whenever something bad happens in the world he always manages to blame political leftists (liberals to those of you in alabama) for it. How does he manage the cognitive dissonance? does he really believe everything is their fault, or is he just not seeing it or what.

Easy. Rush as always admitted that he is an 'entertainer' and has even gone so far to allude that if as a liberal talk radio host he could get higher ratings that he would play that role. Remember, he was a struggling disc jockey before he found 'conservatiism" His role is to bash liberalism because that is what the audience wants him to do
I listened to him in his early days, but the his constant 'towing the Republican line' just gets old

Amen!! People forget that Rush is an entertainer, people tend to totally demonize him and its silly. Just like Howard Stern he caters to his audience-simple as that. For meaningful debate in this country we need all sorts of views - liberal,consevative, liberatarian, Ryan H (communist). You listen to all sides and decide what's best for you.

I don't see why entertainment should legitimate lying. He's settled countless lawsuits brought against him for his lying. "Entertainment," curiously, is not a defense when you misrepresent the truth.

And that al franken book is hilarious. His ideas for handling the medicare problem is a riot. it's kinda cruel, but it's funny anyway.

Chomsky is a good read, Sushi, but a bit old school. YOu need to get a subscription to The Nation, or read their website. The book I'm promoting these days is Gore Vidal's "Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace."

"The Anti-Federalist Papers" (good book for rounding out the debates for our constitution and its reasoning)

"Das Kapital" and "Communist Manifesto" -will give antithesis of our government, and anyone with half a brain should now realize why it is a pipe-dream and anti-liberty. Also, lets you see how present day liberal agenda is not new.

Anything by John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Ayn Rand, and Thomas Szasz.

Reason.com is a good libertarian e-zine (in print also) and lets one step away from the two party system to see how they are both at fault for our problems.

Whoa. Listen to him more because that is not what happens. Yes, if a liberal program is the root of a problem, he'll go after it. However, he doesn't go around blaming just anything on this Democrat or that Socialist. If you don't listen day in and day out AND don't understand that the show is laced with satire, then you should hold your tongue until you really know what's being said.
