rotary cuff pain

I have been having pain in my left rotary cuff for about 2 years now, but today i think i really screwed it up. Well i went to the gym today to lift and decided to quit when i realized i wasen't recoverd enough from the last upper body workout and i couldent get my 6th set up on bench and almost lost it, but managed to get it racked. I get home and reach down to get a can of beans and i think thats what did it all of a sudden i had a sharp pain and now i can barelly lift my left arm. It has never been this bad and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I was thinking about surgery last year and decided not to, but now im thinking about it again.

Try a Chiropractor first...
One with a CCEP certification.
Let me know if you need help finding one.
Look in the Med section, I have many post on shoulder stuff.

Alright thats cool, however i don't have much money and i don't have insurance. My mom is a physical therapist and she got me a perscription for Naproxin which i guess is supposed to be an anti inflamitory and she said it was pointless to go to a doctor. She said she could get me all the things to stretch it and what not, and if i went to a doctor they would first send me to physical therapy. I don't know about a chiropractor though ill have to look into that. Thanks for the input though i appreciate it.

yeah im gona use the rubber bands, but how long do u think it will be before i should get back into real wait training?

definitely do rot cuff exercise - for the rest of your life. light band work and even some REAL light DB work. strengthen em and wake em up. (I learned this too late - partially torn RC a few years ago). I also went to an ART doctor, who was a goddamn life saver. but that was because I had a lot of scar tissue after my injury.

as far as how long before you get back to full strength - it all depends my man. don't rush it. listen to your body and be smart about it. this is a long life we live.

also stretch pec, subscap, lats, upper traps/neck

work on scapular control with scapular pushups, dips and chins/pullups

plus cuff work

You have a structural issue...

yes i do and i think it is from not doing all free waits like i think that doing multi chest really helped screw me over i was doing 150 lbs. on that machine.
