Was reading the latest issue of Rolling Stone last nite and came across an article discussing how HIV negative men are using chatboards and whatever other means necessary to contact HIV positive men. The whole point is to contract AIDS and "be set free". The logic being that once one has AIDS, which is now no big deal to live with, they are free to frolic and fuck every other gay guy.

I almost threw up.

Here's a subculture sending requests out for "demon seed" and "to be bred into the brotherhood" of HIV positive. The article followed one guy whose been having unprotected sex with mutiple partners, most with HIV, for a couple of years. He says it's erotic thinking he could catch it, even though he's a health nut who takes care of himself. To date he has not been tested - because that might take away some of the anticipation of his next encounter.

And what if he contracts HIV? He'll go around infecting HIV negative men - if they're bug chasers or unsuspecting victims - for the sheer thrill of spreading HIV.

The hypocritical part? This moron works part time going to clubs trying to educate gay men to have safe sex.

I read this article too, the thing that really freaks me out is that they are calling carriers the GIFT GIVERS, that is some fucked up shit.
I will be open minded as I can, and the only good thing I can see coming of this movement is that eventually all gay men will wither themselves to nonexistence. Science just has no room for ignorance.

The phenomena that the artical describes is true. I've seen it in the gay culture in DC and I've seen it here in Amsterdam. In the past 2 years I have seen 4 friends choose this route. As an HIV negative man, it distresses me with this growing trend.

There is an allure that is very hard to overcome. You go to any hot gay nightclub and you will see scores of really jacked and buff cut guys. The majority of them are all HIV positive and can display their muscular bodies only because they get perscriptions to AAS. A buddy in DC gets anadrol 50 perscribed to him - dose? - a tab a day. He also gets anavar perscribed. also, all these HIV + guys fuck amoungst each other with out protection.
Also, all of the "outreach" and support programs that exist are for people who are HIV +. THERE IS NOTHING FOR THE HIV- GUY.

So, you there you are........ e.g. 25, skinny, not getting laid because of fear of infection, you go out see all of the "hot, cool guys" behaving like they do and begin to wonder if the effort to stay healthy is really worth it. After all AIDs does'n't kill any more, right?

Hengst - what I found appalling was the attitude by the moron interviewed for this article. That once he is infected he'll go out and spread the disease - to "bug chasers" and unsuspecting gay men.

There is a word for that. Murder. And if you argue that I'm exaggerating - then some of the court cases where men who had sex and knowingly - KNOWINGLY - spread HIV were found guilty and convicted.

It is a sad state of affairs. And I can see the future. And the future is DEMOLITION MAN.

I agree with you. But for me the biggest hypocracy is that the "givers and chasers" are the ones to toot the safe sex horn. Any one (straight or gay) who does not take precautions against STDs is stupid.

It takes effort and constant vigilance.

Actually gay guys have the same sex drive as straight guys, it's just that there are more opportunities to release it. It does become a driving force for many.

Also, gay guys that have suffered from "wasting" and then got onto an AAS regime have one fundamental difference from guys that simply juice. That is they have lost their adipose layer of fat and never get it back. You will see them looking "drier" and more vascular. Look at the legs.

Check it out next time you are in the gym. That group of jacked guys you see and know that are gay......... most likely, if they are big, cut and dry, then they have HIV and are using steroids.

A gross generalization and i'll probably get alot of flak for it, regardless............
