Roadmap to 450lb+ Bench Press

Im going to do it. That's all there is to it. Just wanted to make a note of it. When I get there ill drop some weight gradually to make it look more impressive, right now I need all the help I can get. I added short sprints, I hope they help.

When I am through cutting for this year... I am making that my goal as well. I have hit 405 before... but my Bench is lagging behind my Deads (595) and Squats (645). I think the only way I am going to pack mass on my Front Delts and add thickness to my physique is by training for this goal.

A few years ago I could do 225x22 or so. However my 1 rep max was always way out of line with my reps strenght. I always got fucked at around 340. I cant even do what I was doing then, but its coming back. And fast. After over a year off im doing 225x15 in 3 weeks now. Im bigger, heavier, and feel better than ever. It's going to happen. Ill see to it.

Trust me, id really like to. But because of a lower back injury anything related to squats/deadlifts is out of my reach. Forever. This is very unfortunate, because even the beginners know the added benefits of such lifts. I'll never be able to take advantage of them. But I plan on proving it can be done. Dont get me wrong, I lead a normal life. But normal lives dont have 4 or 500 pounds slung over their back. And that just drives me up a fucking wall.

Right now im doing super basic routine. Something to just get some of my former strength back.

Mondays I do bench 3x5
front military 3x5

Wednesdays I do 3x6 straight bar curls or hammer curls,3 setsx6 tri extensions.

Thursdays I do 3x8 light bench.

Im in no big rush, and dont need a fucked up shoulder trying to get there. In a couple weeks or so I think I am going to put the tricep work in with heavy bench day, and also work them on the light bench day.

1. Yes, plus I had to put some 2x2' boards on the ground because the bench is a little high for me to get planted really good.

However sometimes I dont do this, and keep my feet up on the bench and just rely on my upper body only.

2-3. I think I need to go to a gym and consult on form. Theres this really big mother thats just strong as an ox and he told me one time that if I were to bring my grip in I would bench a shitload because my tris are huge. (not really, he was just trying to make me feel good. maybe compared to the other guys there, but in general terms no.) So anyways I prefer a wide grip, index finger on the ringer and the other three past that. There are definetely tricks to this I know. Lately on heavier weights I am finding myself starting with the elbows out, and rotating them in while driving up and then pushing it backwards almost as if it's falling up. If that makes sense.

4. Yeah, I bring the bar below my tits. I learned that one a long time ago.

I just really need to get out to Moffits gym and get with some guys and see what's up.
