Any use in bodybuilding guys, ie to give better workouts when tired etc.

Any noticable sides to speak of.

Cheers under

My doctor prescribed me some, because I couldnt concentrate or focus. It did wake me up, but my mind was still wandering. Gave me dry mouth too.

Yeah they are saying people are snorting it for the cheap high, but I am more interested in:

"appears to influence the way the brain responds to stimuli. It increases energy as well as confidence but also appears to help hyperactive children by increasing their ability to focus and therefore calming them."

Extra focus and energy in the gym, with little sides, could only be a good thing.

another amphetamine is all this is...i'd stay away from it if at all possible

im on adderall, very similiar.
doctor prescribed. im in my last year of college and trying to get into med school in Aug, I have mild ADD so i need all the help I can get.
It does give you physical and mental energy as described, but it helps calm the mind and therefore focus and concentrate better.
I do feel that it benefits me by giving me energy in the morning for cardio and workouts. it is a powerful stimulent so be careful with it if it is not prescribed by a doc, it also raises bp

hope this helps :)

What use has it in bodybuilding? All it does is calm you down & mongs you out at the same time stay well away!
I think he is asking because it gives an increase in energy, may help with workouts

also, forget to mention:
I think its a class 3 substance, so dont get caught with it without a prescription

I've used all 3 ADHD meds, ritalin, adderall, and dexedrine. Dexedrine is pure d-amphetamine, adderall is a mix of amphetamine salts, and ritalin is a close chemical relative called methylphenidate. All are strong stimulants. They'll give you a good energy boost and endurance boost while on them, and are great for dieting as they tend to supress appetite, particularly carb cravings. However, they can be very addictive and tolerance can build up quickly. If you're careful and smart you can use them sucessfully, if not, stick to clen/ECA. Also, those meds are schedule II, not schedule III like gear, even higher penalties for possession and much harder to get ahold of. I'm immune to clen so I used to use ritalin in it's place, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off with ECA in between with great results, however I can't find any of those 3 meds for the life of me now, though god knows I'd love to! Swolk, I feel you about the med school thing, i'm pre-pharmacy and may also take the MCAT for fun, I did great on the PCAT but staying alert and focused during a 6hr long organic chemistry lab is tough!... at least when it's the kind of lab where I'm dehydrating methylcyclohexanes instead of making 500mg/ml EQ :)

thanks for correcting me being a class 2 :)

trust me, mcat is not fun :) April will be my 2nd attempt at it. I was doing good on my practice test, then bombed the real thing in Aug. oh well shit happens.
yea the adderall helps with a 8-9 hr mcat that is the most important test of your life. I loved O-chem, compared to the other pre-recs! but those multiple hr long refluxes can be boring

I heard that adderall works very well. Im hoping my doctor will prescribe me some next time I visit him this month. Everytime ive been studying the past month, my mind seems to just wander all over the place, and I keep daydreaming. I should be aceing my class, instead of getting a B.

yea, it wont make you smarter but may help you concentrate a little better. if he does prescribe it to you, make sure you start at a low dose

Yea I know bro, thanks. Some of my friends take it for studying as well, and they say if you take to much, it can make you high. I have a final coming up, and I hope to get a few just to see how it works for me.

Who cares if it helps with workouts. Stay away from that crap. If paint thinner helped with workouts, even made them twice as good, would anybody really use it?

I may be sorry that I asked this.

Why were alot of people using ghb for then? I thought the stuff was sh*t, but just about everyone who was working out in gyms in my area was swearing by the stuff..

If used correctly, for right reasons, directed by a doctor it is a great and useful drug.
are you saying it is wrong to use this way or just to increase energy for a workout?

I wish somebody like Anthony Roberts, MacAlpha or Mr. X would get in on this one. If I recall correctly, there is something about the presence of amphetamines in the system (including Adipex/phentermine, while we're at it) that prevents muscle-building. A liver response, or something. I'm curious myself, because I've often wondered if Ritalin would do anything for my concentration and such. Guys?

Besides addiction, it has no use IMO. :coffee: It's a highly addictive substance that I wouldn't recommend.

I think it is up to anyone to deceid what is right and what is wrong for themselves but my opinion is that YES ... the potential sides far outway the energy boost for a gym session. There are other much less dagerous ways to help with energy for a workout. I have known someone who would talk about doing this or that to improve his workout performance but he said he did not have the time to prepare complex carbs preworkout.

He might opt for the Ritalin method but in my opinion it is still a bad choice. Rice has no sides and he chooses not to use it. Now I am sure that rice may have less of an effect than that of a heavy drug like Ritalin but..

Adderol is much better than Ritlin if you are looking at going this route. :chomp: :chomp: :chomp:

Technically adderall is worse than ritalin, ritalin is only a chemical relative, adderall is an actual mix of l and d-amphetamines. The only thing stronger than adderall or dexedrine is methamphetamine, which is actually also schedule II, it's legally prescribed in the US, though very rarely. None of these substances should be used lightly, and I don't think they have any place in the recreational bodybuilders arena... but to each his own, who's to say that taking ritalin 2x a week is any worse than a couple of beers every weekend?
