My brother`s FIL just died and he went shopping for his own coffin. It was weird hearing the story. He was trying to pick out the cheapest one to save his family some money after he passed so they could have more of his inheritance. He payed for everything, the coffin, ceremony, funeral home, catered lunch afterwards... everything.
He shipped the coffin in from another state and when the children saw it, they immediately bought a better more expensive one.
They also shipped HIM in from another state, after the death. After the wake I found out he donated (in his will I guess) all the money from his wake gifts to a school for underpriveledged children in his home town that he was constantly donating to when alive. ALL the money.
