Rice?

I bought this box of rice and i am paranoid about eating rice anyway (brain programmed for low carb) anyhow its Long grain and wild rice.

enriched par boiled long grain rice, thiamine, wild rice, dehyrated vegtables, salt, hydrolyzed corn gluten, soy, and wheat gluten proteins, sugar, monosodium glutamate, autolyzed yeast, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate

Do i add the marg as called for in prep? You are supposed to boil for 25 min.

No you don't have to add the margarine.......

It's one of those boxed, flavored/seasoned rice thingies?? Just simmer on low for about 25 minutes. If the water starts to boil off, add more. Also make sure the rice doesn't stick to or burn to the bottom of the pan.
 
Okay, I thought i could eat brown and wild rice. Crap, I already ate it w/some chicken breast.
How much freakin' damage did i do? Is it the seasoning, that's bad?
I didn't see anything wrong with it except for high sodium. I am just trying to find something everyone can eat. My dishwasher is out and cooking all these different things and having to wash alot of extra dishes really Sucks!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
My probelm is the claosre to 50 grams of carbs per serving
 
yeah, i though it was ok. Cause i know brown rice is healthy and oats are high in carbs too.
What do u suggest shadow, a different type or no rice?

I think i'll skip the rice from now on. I am going to be on the beach in about 5 weeks and i want to cut as much as i can. Progress is sloooooooooow!, so No more rice for me. :)

Well, those box mixes are usually not the brown rice that is normal brown rice in a bag. The boxed mix is usually processed and it's not full brown rice. Full brown rice takes about 1 hour (45-55 mins) to cook. And with the seasoning, etc -- there's no fiber & HIGH sodium. If it was "true" brown rice there'd be some fiber listed.....

Once it's gone, just don't buy it again.....
 
Well I haven't actally been counting them. I looked at my fit day and one day was 69 carbs.
It's mainly the triscuits and wheat ritz cracker I eat w/my can of tuna, the oatmeal in the am, fruit in the shakes and oatmeal, and either s.potato or rice or veggies, and the rice cakes.
I thinking of eating the oatmeal every other day maybe. I am just wanting my pants to loosen up and my tummy still looks prego.

Your carbs are at 69g and you need to lower them? :worried: That is pretty low, mine are just alittle lower and I'm almost at the point where I can't function.

I am used to low carb girl. I did it the first time in 2001 and exercised (not nearly as hard as now and didn't eat as well as now) and seen wonderful results. I want to look like that again. Then i kept thinkin' i could sneak crap in my diet..and now look at me. What a fool! I feel like i'm livin' in carb heaven. I do miss cheese its and bread though.
Girl i am just freakin' scared that i'm gonna look like this in may, y'know. Putting that bathing suit on scares the heck outta me. :worried:
Oh yeah, at that time i was taking dexatrim and it had ephedrine in it.
Been thinkin' maybe I need that to help me out a bit.
 
YOU NEED TO EAT CLEAN!!!!! BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS let the diet do the work first!!!!!!!

Be patient!!!!

It's just the vacation that's makin' me sooo impatient and worried.

Then listen!!! You aren't going to change over night, you need to give your body a chance to adjust, your body is used to getting alot of crap, and now you're eating clean, it takes your body some time to adjust.

You weigh 109, correct then keep you calorie intake between 1090 and 1308, with your protein at 40%, carbs at 30% and fats at 30%, from clean, healthy foods, train, and you WILL SEE RESULTS, but you have to BE PATIENT!!!

You've only been eating better for what a week, give it at least 3 weeks for your body to ADJUST!!!

Um weight this morn. 105.5. But prolly cuz aunt flo left, partly.

Hmmm then it wasn't more than a week now was it??

Well there you see you've dropped some weight already, but at 5ft tall and 105.5 lbs I don't think you should be focusing on losing "weight" you need to focus on changing your body composition, meaning drop "some" bodyfat and gain some muscle. You'll never be able to do that with no carbs.

I have to agree with 24k.......... the bf didn't appear overnight -- it's not gonna disappear overnite either....

These things take time -- crash dieting just so you can look good in a bathing suit is NOT a good idea & will only set you up to FAIL, get cravings & possibly binge.

I'm sure that at 106lbs you will look better than 80% of the people on the beach & you should really be concentrating on how good of a time you are having and not the last few %'s of bf you couldn't strip off in 3 weeks.....
 
Yeah I hope so jenscats. I hate feeling self concious in a bathing suit.
My body is not proportioned correctly with my tummy being so bloaty looking.
And hubby looks just plain hot in his trunks...creep. :)

And watch the sodium intake -- that rice you made has enough sodium to make anyone with the flattest tummy to look bloated. And make sure you're drinking enuf water....

I get sick of plain water and have been drinking s/f tang. It's awesome!!! Almost like getting to have oj. :)

Anyhow I bought some new rice today. It's a 2lb bag of uncle ben's...Brown Rice natural whole grain. It says is microwavable and a serving size is 1/4 c. 1.5 fat , 0 sodium , total carb 35, fiber 2, protein 5 . The carbs scare me :worried: !!! How do I flavor it up though? By itself i think it will taste pretty blah . :xeye:

Try Mrs Dash -- they have lots of flavors!! Stock up when on sale....

Remember, your nets carbs at the end of the day are Total carbs - Fiber.
 
Yep, I know! There's just not really that much fiber there though. OH well! It's not like i'm gonna eat it daily..Nice for a change!!
