Reverse Hyper Machine? Or GHR?- Which Is Better To Have???

Fellas, in your opinion, which machine is better or more effective to have? The Reverse Hyper?? Or the Glute-Hamstring-Raise?? Opinions please....

Both are areas where I think a lot of athletes lack strength....

I would say you could do without both if you use the right variety of excercises (though not as optimally).... But it is important to keep your goals in mind I think...

Personally I think I see a lot people with weak hams, and know that has been a hurdle for me more in the past than posterior chain, so I would vote for the GHR first... I wish I had had one of these to use a long time ago.....

Other people might have different opinions of course...

I don't have either but, I want the GHR first for the same reason as Becoming, I know my hams are weak, my post chain (maybe from crew-rowing back in the day . . . ) is tight enough for now . . . My weakest link, holding my squat at 400, is my hams for sure. So I vote GHR

Yeah, if I had to vote even though it would be VERY close, I would have to say the GHR, too. You can use it for several different bodyparts. From what I hear it hits your hamstrings like no other exercise!!!

I do GHR's at home, without a GHR machine. I take my bench and put it alongside my power cage, then I set the safety pin so it's just a little over the bench height. I'll kneel on the bench (on my shins) and lock my ankles down under the cage's safety bar, my knees end up resting just over the side of the bench. This setup allows me to do GHR's at home rather nicely.

I haven't done a single leg curl since. :D

I do this too when there is not one around... close, but not quite the same... the is no toe plate and that makes a big difference....

but works good as a substitute...

If suston is right then I would agree with him.

But out of simple logic I would want the reverse hyper machine simply because I can do Romanian deads or squats for my glutes or hams, whereas the reverse hyper motion is a bit harder to replace.

every time this question is asked on elitfts, they always say r. hyper
since i can simulate this movement okay, id personally go with the GHR

I'd listen to the WSB guys and get a reverse hyper. Of course they do have the patent on that and might have a monetary interest, but the alternatives to GHR"s can be very close to the same, but that cannot be said with alternate reverse hypers. The real GHR is definitely different, but I think natural GHR's are actually harder.

On FortifiedIron, they have the instructions for a homemade reverse hyper. That might work ok, but I've never used either.

i would go w/ the ghr (although i would love to have a r.hyper) bc my hams are alot weaker than my lower back and they're alot cheaper also...thru nybb. depends on your weaknesses i guess
