REVENGE - how far is too far

Let it go man, I have a friend that is constantly seeking revenge on everyone that's looked at him the wrong way. His revenge backfires everytime and he ends up worse.
He sued one person and they filed a countersuit. He lost his case but the other person won the countersuit.
If this guy finds out he didn't get the job becasue of you he might show up at your house with a 12 gauge.

Matt,

I slept two hours, and I am cranky and pissed off this morning however, I slept really well.
Don't waste your time or sleep over some bullshit, your sleep will thank you for it since your conscience will remain clear.

There is really only one question you need to answer in this Matt,

Can you look at yourself in the mirror everymorning after you do this? Revenge is something I have always passed on myself and I prefere living with a clear conscience over seeing someone else suffer.

I'd agree. Really, getting revenge won't affect your life one bit but will fuck up someone else's. I also believe in karma - he'll one day get screwed over like you did by him. I believe in being the bigger man and not getting revenge, esepcially if it could affect the rest of his life. I'd be interested to know what he did to you.

Matt, it depends.. do you think he would make a good ranger? If not, fuck him, if so.. let him be, at least he will be serving his country.. maybe he learned from his mistakes.. besides.. who are we to punish? let God take care of that. And, he will.

He is going to graduate soon and is applying for government work in the department of justice: FBI or more likely US Marshal.

I am in a position where I can contact someone and probably arrange for him to never ever get these jobs.

Would you?

I wouldn't go out of my way to see that someone will not hire him as a personal favor but I would let incriminating evidence slip that under normal circumstances I would keep to myslef.

So think of it as a Karma speeder upper rather than an act of revenge.

Brilliant!

MattTheSkywalker,

Despite the actions of the perpertraitor you have succeeded and moved on with your life. Your success nulifies his trasngretions. I would have to agree with Wodin and Mastermind. Revenge is a evil that is very attractive and emotionally comsuming. Endulging in revenge would only serve his purpose and his trangetions will now become the sins of yourself(Islamic prinicple which I believe in). Life will provide justice when justice is called upon. His actions toward you will be repaid 10 fold in due time. Revenge is sweet but with a bitter after taste.

Who knows, he probably won't get the job anyway.

Without knowing the specifics, it's hard to really make a fair assessment, but if you do this to him, it will have a major negative impact on his life. If what he did to you had a major negative impact on a similar scale, which is something only you can determine, than I would do it. If it didn't have as big of a negative impact as this will on him, then I probably wouldn't do it. That is how I would look at it.

I agree with Wodin. I had rather know that I have the power to change his life and chose not to.....than to do it.....and have someone suffer. We grow from all positive and negative experiences. It's called wisdom. I'm sure you learned something from what happened other than to seek revenge to those who offend you.
