restless arms and legs

When I train heavily whether it be upper or lower body I seem to have restless muscles. This is so weird, I have no pain whatsoever but I seem to have very stimulated or energized muscles. This is mainly a problem at night when I am trying to sleep. I will wake up at three in the morning just thrusting my arms (or legs) around because they can't seem to stay still.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there anyway to get a better nights sleep?

Yeah, except this is a nightime problem and Tourette's (or tics) greatly diminishes during sleep. I just want to know what to do to stop it.

My stepfather has something with jumpy legs, especially when he is tired. He works out a lot too. It's called restless leg syndrome. Here's a link

Not sure if it's at all related to training. Did you have this before? The article refers a to it being more common in older people, but my stepfather has had this since he was in his 20s and he's only in his 50s now.

Thanks LB....my only thought is it only happens when I've worked out heavily....I worked arms heavily on Tuesday and Tuesday night my arms were very "energized"....it never happened before I started all this training...this is the first time I have ever lifted weights and there is a direct correlation......weird.

That is strange. Hopefully someone else here has some suggestions for you :(
