Remove Steroids from The Controlled Substances List

GOOD GOD I cant' stand that arguement..."If it were legal, everyone would juice". Thats the most rediculous shit I've ever heard. Juice didn't become ILegal until 1990. I guess the whole world was "on" before then huh?! I have this same arguement w/ my sis-in-law when we debate weather or not all drugs should be legal. She says that SAME shit, that everyone(including herself)would be tempted to try H or Coke, because it would be legal. Meanwhile this girl doesn't even drink OR smoke--two very LEGAL forms of drug. Kind of contradicts everything she's saying.

Actually AS were never legal, they just weren't classified as narcotics.

They weren't controlled is what I meant. Classified as hormones---same as Insulin is now. By the way...Im from western Pa. also.

Sorry but I have to disagree with the legalization of anabolics and possibly all of the ancillaries that go hand in hand with them. I used to have the opinion that since they can be used safely, they should be legalized. But think about it, the reason they're scheduled is some ignorant assholes somehow fucked themselves up with them, thus making the DEA consider them dangerous (this is a very loose argument, just an example). A few dickheads screwed it up for the rest of us who would use anabolics with extreme care. And just how many ignorant, idiotic, stupid, reckless, immature cheesedicks are there in the world- ALOT!!! We can all vouch for that. Just look around the gym where you work out at- can you take seriously the possibility that everyone you see there would have access to gear? At least with them illegal people actually have to somewhat research the subject, even if it's just reading about it for a few days and making a decision. We take too many damn things for granted and I'm thankful steroids isn't one of them since they're illegal. Besides, it'll never happen, at least not anytime soon.

Who cares....Why ruin it for everyone. Another persons life and decisions should not be in your hands. Careless people kill themselves in their car everyday. In America, its suppose to free, we are suppose to have rights.

Theres a number of old men and others with legitamate medical reasons to use test and juice, but they can't get a doc to prescribe it because of the stigma.

Innocent people who use steriods(and other drugs) are criminalized.

Steriods being illegal, you have peoples lives ruined, being put in jail, money and property stolen, paying 10x the amount for med's, shooting during drug trades, higher chance of contimation, more irresponsibilty and more dependent on the government.

Steriods being legal, other people hurting themselves thats it. Much less damage. Besides many people would hurt themselves are using it anyway, whey force them how to live there life?

Would it really matter if you could get a prescription?

You mean to tell me that everyone would start paying $425 for 100 2.5 mg oxandrolone, $1200 for 100 A-bombs, $25-30 for 1 cc of Deca? I doubt it. Besides, where would you guys get d-bol, tren, etc. It isn't made here and never will be.

On top of that, it would be in your medical records.

I just don't think it would change much of anything unless generics were brought back to the US market, then it might work and I'd certainly welcome it. However, the American govt is unlikely to ever reconsider the AAS Control Act, let the FDA approve generic androgen preps again or physicians prescribe them for non-medical/cosmetic use. Moreover, even if the Feds changed their position, I doubt if many states would change.

Get used to dealing with the way things are because they aren't going to change in our lifetime.

and lastly, this argument that everyone would use them, I don't buy it. If steroids were really controlled by MDs, phamacists and FDA approved labs, there'd be less shit on the street. Availablility would be reduced to those that shouldn't be using the stuff (i.e., 8-10th graders). The steroid control act was the best thing the govt could have done to give kids more access to steroids. Furthermore, just because something is available doesn't mean everyone will use it. Coke could be legalized tomorrow and most of the people that don't use it today, wouldn't be using it tomorrow. Why, because they can get it today regardless.......Those arguments are just reasons to maintain the current political agenda.

eh. i think it had more to do with george bush sr. looking for a 'mass enemy' to revamp the economy & unite the country. when saddam came around he lost interest in the drug war. Bush didn't need a reason to sign the controlled substance act of 1990 (if that is what it was called), he needed an excuse. that is how the drug war is fought. the government looks for excuses to repress drug users, not valid reasons. and if they can't find working excuses, they'll make some up.

I think a thread devoted to how to write your state and federal congresspeople would be cool. I am going to write mine as part of a research project. Most people don't realize it is as easy as calling your county clerk's office and asking for their address, phone or e-mail. You may have to look for your voter's registration to know what district you are in as this often changes every election.
