BoB is the best series I've ever seen.

Pacific had a good first episode. Not great, but first episodes dont tend to be.

It was good. You have to realize they are setting up stories that will go on over 10 episodes, so don't expect much epic battle footage or anything, though there was a bit of action...cool scenes.


Based on Band of Brothers you know this is going to fuckin' rock. I'd definitely catch it if you have HBO.

Probably not. At least not in much detail...possibly only alluded to. My dad served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was glad to leave. He had nightmares until the day he died. It wasn't until about 63 years after the war ended (shortly before dad's death) until any of us (or anyone else) heard any of the horror stories from him about what he experienced there. All anyone ever heard from him were the funny stories, or the good times, or maybe how supplies didn't come, and for several weeks they survived by stealing pineapples from the farmers.
