Religious Conviction And Steroids.

everything the catholic church teaches has foundation in the bible. there are 100's of scholars and others that try to intepret the bible, and of course shit is going to get mixed up. The catholic church keeps tradition while remaining true to what is said in the gospel..now if you want to get into the saints, the virgin mary, and other stuff..well thats a whole other thread. My best freind is christian, and we have our discussions back and forth when it comes to catholasism. But to this day, i always look in the bible trying to find a response to quesitons about catholasism.

Str8 i think you're right bro. the catholic church takes a lot of criticism, but it is not perfect; just like everything else in this world. the church does have its faults, but for the most part it is right. You're right when you said that catholicism IS based in the bible and tries to maintain tradition, and unlike many other religions of the world today, the catholic church has adopted to changes in culture and tradition. Many will argue against with church, without any justification, their reason is just based on their objective opinions. But there is an opponent to everything today. :D ;) :D

Anyone get the new Muscular Development? There is an article in the back called the book of genesis according to romano that has to do with this excact subject. It is very funny and worth buying the mag for.

I don't think God gives a flying fuck, to be honest. I used to be Catholic and struggled with questions like this. For much of my life I based decisions on the underlying fear and guilt that years of Catholic upringing had instilled in me. The most ironic part is that, since ceasing to call myself a practicing Catholic, I still make the same decisions now that I did then! Only now I feel those decisions have a much more solid foundation because I do/don't do certain things because of how I know they will make ME feel, not how they will make GOD feel.

I'm thankful for my Catholic upbringing and the perspective it has given me, but I feel so much free and confident in my decision making now that I did previously. I'm a HUGE believer in the divinity within each individual. I don't think in terms of "sin" or "making God angry" anymore. Instead, I think in terms of making decisions that will allow me to continue developing into the best person I can be.

I certainly don't think exogenous testosterone keeps me from being that person.

I am a born again Christian and have done many cycles, I am also 51 years old and I will be doing a lot of growth in the future.

There have been some very sage post regarding this subject, Specifically, silent method and str8cubano.

I don’t believe the Lord sees using gear any different than any other substance, meaning everything in moderation and your motivation are paramount.

1 Cor 23, 1 Cor 25-33
Scripture teaches on this with the issue of eating meat.
In those days there were some religious sects that were Christian that taught eating meat is wrong. Paul coreected them by saying "let each man be convinced in his own mind" ...this taking into account we are not talking about any specific list in scripture that is wrong (like murder, stealing, fornicating, drunkeness ect)!!
He also goes on to say that if you think its okay to eat meat then do not FLAUNT it in front of those who do think its wrong
....basically if you do juice and you think its okay keep it to yourself and don't argue with someone who thinks its not okay.
If you juice and think its wrong , then its wrong for you and you have made a decision to bring condemnation upon yourself.

Questions to ask:
Is juicing edifing and constructive to spiritual life?
If not, then what about driving a new automobile (Porshe, Ferrari ect)?? getting breast implants...a new hair style?
Does God want a better question from us besides is it wrong to juice? Or is He thinking we are really not concerned about the real issues?
Does juicing raise raise your conscientious scruples? If so , and you are truly a Christian why do you continue?
What about smoking? ...Greasy foods/Hot Dogs...Potatoe chips with BHA and BHT? Do these bother you or is it just the smoking ciggarettes?
Juicing DONE RIGHT (ie blood work/anti estros ect) is not unhealthy!

Food for thought!

I don't believe god exactly cares about this type of thing...it's all in how you live your life as a whole, how you treat, help and enlighten others, and how you honor god by doing the best with what you are blessed with as well as growing spirtually, physically and mentally, which is your mission here on earth. Humans make things too complicated, I believe everything is so much simpler than we are told it is. Peace...

God totally disapproves of any AAS use, but God lets you make your own choices. Remember there are consequences for everything you do. And when you start to get sides and sick from AAS that is the way He will punish you.
“everyone sins and falls short of the glory of God” God knows your heart, and what your intentions are. So protect your heart. Don’t let AAS be your God.
I feel that as long as I don't let it take over my life, and put it before God that I can still have relationship with God.

I am very religious and practicing catholic, and have come across the questions many times..i then realllized, that creatine, ripped fuel, and all supplements are there to enhance our physical appearance....so why are steroids so bad? if one educates himself/herself about the drug, then they can maximize the benifits without potential dangers. The only difference is that steroids are illegal. That's it. Because of this, many are ignorant of how to use them, society just know's that steroids are "BAD", and we are taught never to take them. Marijuana is also illegal. I don't smoke weed all the time, i don't use it as an escape, but there have been times that ive smoked and i seroiusly don't see anything wrong with it. It depends on the individuals intentions as well. Somebody that drinks obsesively to escape from his problems, does drugs and become addicts...and can't have fun or live without there obsession. yes i see that wrong. But if you do it everyonce in a while to enjoy the occasion, and don't let the drug/drink become your life, then i see nothing worng with that...Jesus Christ drank wine...im sure he got buzzed...
Great points. On the issuee of marijuana, I can vouch first hand that it's abuse can be quite immoral. My life was CENTERED around the shit for 5 years - it was all day everyday and it came first. Today I don't touch the stuff but my older sister, who never had any experience with it untill after I had quit, uses it on occasion. For her it's fine. She can, and does, do without it just fine without a second thought.
BTW, I forget which Psalm it is that says "the Lord has given us wine to gladden the heart of man."

Well, 12 years of catholic schooling has taught me different. I mean deacons, priests, and sisters will flat out tell you that some church practices are based purely on tradition. Not that they're necessarily bad.
