Do you think its best to be friends first and then lovers. Or lovers first and then friends. Or can you or do you have to have both?

Relationship: Friends first. I don't mean that the 2 should be best friends, and all that shit, but I jumped into a steady relationship with my ex-girlfriend w/o knowing her too well. She turned out to be a lying, manipulative, whore who keeps contacting me no matter how much I tell her I cant stand her, and I want her to go away [and I'm a mean asshole when I want to be]. I no longer refer to her by her real name, but instead use 'psycho bitch'. I personally would like to get to know the girl on some basis [learning from my mistake] before I start committing myself, so I'd have to say friends then lovers, but if one of the two is lacking then the relationship will eventually turn south.

I think it all depends on whether you think the person is long-term relationship material or just someone you'd like to do a little sport fukin with. If its the long-term relationship thing, i'd say friends first is better, that way you know the person, their likes/dislikes and sex becomes just another way to express your friendship and caring for one another, not just something you do for fun. Now if its the other, just go ahead and be lovers, cause the relationship isn't gonna amount to a whole hell of a lot, so have your fun and maybe the person will turn out to be a good friend and party buddy.

if you really value someones friendship, i would go against not getting involved with them. Things get fucked up fairly easily after they split up, and even if yo udo become friends again, the pain and anger will always be on the back of your mind.
